Democrats are this generation’s racists

Post by bedub1 »

Democrats in California are total racists. In order to point out how racist they are, a group of Republican Students at Berkeley College held a bake sale. Their prices were as follows:
The price was $2 for whites, $1.50 for Asian-Americans, $1 for Latinos and Hispanics, 75 cents for blacks and 25 cents for Native Americans. Women received a 25-cent discount from the price for their race.
I applaud the Republican students at their fantastic idea. Hopefully it will get the racists to see how racist they are, and stop being racist.

If the Republicans where the ones charging different prices depending on skin color then I would think they were racist also.

Your sarcasm proves the point the College Republicans were trying to make... i.e. their Bake Sale was a satire to prove a point.

... a point you obviously missed.

 when republicans do it with cupcakes = racism
when democrats do it with peoples careers and education and lives = progress

All fall down: Students protest against the bake sale at California's Berkeley College

Critics called the bake sale event racist. But the group said the same could be said about affirmative action policies.

'The pricing structure is meant to be discriminatory,' the group's president, Shawn Lewis, said of the bake sale.
'We're hoping it will encourage people to think more carefully about a policy that judges people differently based on the colour of their skin.'

Dozens of people of various races bought a dessert as members of the Republican group held signs opposing the legislation Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown is considering.

At noon, several hundred students dressed in black held a counter-protest, lying down in the middle of a campus plaza to call on Brown to sign the bill known as SB185.

Wait... Native American women get a free cupcake??? NICE!

Very creative idea by the Berkleyian Republicans. I liked it.

I'm very disappointed in the "counter protest." "Oh look, we're going to dress in black and lie down! Look at us! Lying down! Dressed in black! We're so anti-establishment... I mean, wait, we're pro-establishment right since the stupid racist hick Republicans are protesting a Democratic governor? Hey Maurice, are we pro-government or anti-government right now? When we did this last week, we were anti-establishment, but now I think we're pro-establishment. Doesn't matter... FREE SIMON BOLIVAR!"

EDIT - By the way, there are a lot of frigging white kids in that counter protest. I suspect the African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, and Hispanics were in class, while their spoiled rich kid white counterparts did the "protest." Gotta love college! Maybe the Berkleyian Democrats need to practice some affirmative action.

This had nothing to do with Republican or Democrats. It had to do with UC California admission policies.

Beyond that, I tend to be opposed to most favoratism. I have been the "benefactor", but also the victim of such. I was once hired under consent decree --- and because "everybody knew" we were "not qualified"... we were treated accordingly. I have detailed elsewhere some of the stuff I had to deal with, not going to get into it here.

At some point, some things are just supposed to be competetive and merit-based. Sure, we all know that the kids of the wealthy and famous have some doors opened more readily, but its not really about race any longer. That is, racism exists, but there is just so much "equality" that can be forced.
Things are not equal, of course, but they never are for college.

What? I'm not being sarcastic. I'm being serious. Democrats are racist. The Republicans held a "racist" satirical bake sale to point out how racist the Democrats are. In my mind, it worked great. The Democrats are pissed because they don't like it when people point out how hypocritical they are.

If a person or group opened a store... and as a policy charged people of different colors different prices for similar services.... then yes, I would agree that is racist.

If a person or group has a one-day event and names it "Affirmative Action Bake Sale".... and it is done as an attend to highlight the racist nature of Affirmative Action program, then NO that group is NOT racist. They are clearly using humor and sarcasm to point out a racist program.

Thanks :)

So if a white man walked up and was charged $2 for a cupcake and a black man walked up and was charge $.75 at the cupcake sale that would be an act based on color. Or did they charge everyone the same price after proving their point?

How about its shorthand for "at some point, the argument is..."
Besides, after generations of denying blacks the right to anything, it was appropriate to offer some helps, "reparations", if you will. However, CA has taken it way, WAY too far.

If I was a member of the group that held the bake sale, I'd be really tempted to put a big ad in the school paper that said the following:
We apologize for the discriminatory bake sale we held last week. We agree that it is unacceptable to charge different prices to different groups based on race. We'll be holding another bake sale this week where you will be charged a fixed amount regardless of your race or gender.

In an unrelated note, bring this ad to the non-discriminatory bake sale to receive a discount (call it a scholarship discount since you're a college student) on your purchase.
  • White people will receive no scholarship discount except for a need-based discount, but you attend Berkley, so clearly you don't need the discount.
  • Asians and Asian Americans will receive a $0.50 scholarship discount on each purchased item since we want to increase the diversity of those that taste our baked goods.
  • Latinos and Hispanics will receive a $1.00 scholarship discount for the same reason and because some of them might come from poor immigrant families who don't have as much money to pay for our baked goods.
  • Black and African American students will receive a $1.25 scholarship discount because we feel guilty that some of our friend's distant ancestors treated some of their friend's distance ancestors very badly.
  • Native Americans will receive a $1.75 scholarship discount because we never see any of them and think it would be really cool if we could brag to our friends about how many of these people tasted our baked goods!
  • Women will receive an additional $0.25 discount because... well ... all the reasons we want to use would get us branded sexist, and since there are more women than men getting college degrees, we're having trouble coming up with another reason, so just pretend there's a good reason and come get your baked goods!
For some reason people keep telling me I probably wouldn't do well if I went into politics. I'm still trying to figure that out... :D

The scholarship pricing formula still neglects immigrants and others of the caucasian/europoid type who may not have the benefit of wealth in their family history. These potential cupcake customers may quite possibly have an identical socio-economic background to those receiving "scholarships" yet are ineligible for financial assistance.

Within the confines of an affirmative action job search, these applicant's qualifications will also be negated by a racial or gender bias.

White immigrants must pay full price, but could qualify for financial aid similar to whites who are not immigrants (but who also cannot afford to pay for college).

As we all know, a rich black student faces significantly more challenges to college admission than a poor white student (immigrant or not). He just doesn't have the benefits that being white gives you. As Chris Rock said, he'd rather be a poor white man than a rich black man (he has heretofore ignored my letters to exchange places with him, but I'll keep trying!).

Player there are no reparations to be made. Everyone is dead from the era of slavery. Those folks are gone. I nor any of my family ever owned slaves. I pay a third of my paycheck to compensate mostly sorry asses that don't want to work so they can lay around the house and have more babies because if they have more babies then even more "reparations" can be made.

One of my black friends went to get her stamps and welfare a couple of months ago. She is injured and cannot work. The folks at the welfare office tried to get my friend to lie on her documents so that she could get more. They told her "everybody does it. You are owed it, so get more." This happens all over the country and is taking us down.

Florida is now drug testing all welfare recipients before they can receive handouts. Way to go!!!
