but seriously... Ipad? Who would ever want an ipad? They're fucking worthless pieces of crap. A silly toy that's not really a computer but is too big for a phone...
Get some better prizes next time.
Actually, I borrowed an Ipad for a few months in the spring, and then when it was time to return it, instead of buying an Ipad I bought a "real" laptop. Now I'm somewhat regretting it.
The Ipad used to be able to get through an entire run on one charge, the laptop lasts barely an hour and a half. I can't charge it if I shut the truck off, because it draws more power than the resting voltage of the truck, so I have to remember to charge it while I'm driving or it won't be available when I stop.
The Ipad had a built-in wireless modem and a built-in billing process; for the laptop I had to buy an external wireless modem and set up a seperate account with my cellular provider. And because it plugs in to a USB port, I can't keep it plugged in or it would bang around and break off on bumps; I have to remove it and put it in its separate travelling case.
The Ipad booted in seconds, so I could log in during odd delays while fueling or whatnot; the laptop takes almost a minute to boot, and then another minute or so to plug in the external modem, verify a signal, and log on to the network, meaning that I only use it when I'm stopped for long periods. This might not seem so onerous, but on longer runs this has led to me missing turns. Not a huge life-transforming problem, but it's an annoyance.
The Ipad touch-screen was a lot easier to use than my tiny little finger pad.
The Ipad had a built-in GPS; on the laptop I have to manually move the map around and zoom in to my location.
All in all, if I had to do it all over again I would have bought an Ipad.
