i admit i was wrong remembering you as a decent person. i either have a very bad memory or i was seriously wrong judging your character.

Oh, I completely understand the difference between the quantity assumed by "a few" and a qualifier on the word "intelligent" with "most". However, let's go back to the very first post where this all started and see what you said (underlined and bolded for emphasis):

DiM wrote:you realize that the first post of the thread is still saying this is a top of the most intelligent 20 somethings

Since then, you have admitted that the first post says (underlined and bolded again):

DiM wrote:this is from the first quote and it clearly says that the list represents the few really intelligent 20 somethings on CC.

My response was (and still is) that it says nothing of being a list of the most intelligent 20 somethings. This is why I am saying that you originally misread "a few intelligent 20 somethings" to mean "the most intelligent 20 somethings". Which of your two above posts is actually your argument here? They are very different statements to make.

Well, now you've gone and made me wrong. And a promise-breaker.

I feel many shame.

This i cannot contest, and yet, i cannot help but wonder how different the posts would be if he was "under 30"... or should i have said "one of the best"... or to be truly on topic "one of the best under 30"...

In response to one or two criticisms made in this thread I will say the following:

The settings I play are not point generating settings by any means. A player can get points much easier by choosing certain other settings which allow you to ambush unprepared players with cheap tricks time after time.

But the settings I like are ones which are quite hard to master, involve some deep thinking in terms of positioning and pathing and some careful execution of multiple eliminations. There is no diplomacy involved. It is all about positioning and tactics. There is luck involved and so the best player does not always win the game, but thats not so important. The thing is simply to have interesting games and learn more about this rich and surprisingly difficult game.

I have no great interest in the CC scoreboard. I dont want to play teamgames with cooks on oasis map, or to play freestyle games where you have to cash your cards in the last milisecond of your turn. So I will never make it to the top.
Regarding the people on the top of Robinettes list, I have come up against stbtgal and impassive many times and been beaten by them many times. They are strong players. Hats off to them.Thats all I can say.

I have played lots of sequential esc games against all comers, especially speed games. They are fun, but often you just get gifted the game, or eliminated for no reason, by self-destructing players, and it is not so satisfying. Also the strategy needed in order to win is not so deep, because you dont have to think too much about people blocking or developing strategies of their own, it is just about waiting for people to fall into the same old pitfalls and make the same old blunders. You do still need to be accurate at sweeping though.

As was said, you are 29 so you do qualify... but your score needs to be higher to make the cut!
