Yeah, doublevoter should be pretty easy to prove, and I don't see how it's useless unless you lose the ability if you are forced to claim.

I might also add that the Greek Pantheon has 12 gods, and with 11 players, we can be sure that mafia probably have fakeclaims.

I'm back from my holiday hiatus!!

I guess, I agree with pressuring Vio. I don't think her claim is that unbelievable. Nothing really special about it for town and easily proveable. Vio, double vote for us and prove your worthiness!!

Violet, assuming you can prove your role, you're still useful because you can potentially delay LYLO/MYLO scenarios. Make sure you talk to Edocsil in private and find out whether you can change your extra vote once it has been cast or whether it is set in stone.

Safari, I think 12 is the number of gods that live in Mt. Olympus. The actual number of greek gods is ridiculously high as far as I know.

Unvote Conzocool as the game is about to get serious.

Athena is believable but I also would agree with safari about fake claims so there is in my eyes one maybe two roles that are all but guaranteed, so Vio should prove her ability.

Fastposted: yes the number of greek gods are ridiculously high but the Pantheon I believe specifically refers to the gods that live on Mt. Olympus.

Just like everyone else said, Doublevoter is pretty darned easy to prove. Even if you were mafia though, I don't think you'd claim something like Doublevoter just because it can be unproven so easily... But still, easy enough to prove.

Deadline was supposed to be every 2 weeks, obviously holidays make that impractical. Deadline set for 1 week from today.

You didn't answer the first point (I know saf said why you still can use your role but you said you role was now useless)

I already explained that, when I first claimed my role.

Now that it's out in the open, I don't plan on using it. A secret vote is supposed to be well......secret. No point if everyone knows about it now. Everyone will know it's me.

The only situation I think, where it can possibly be useful now- is if we are approaching a deadline, yet we can't get enough votes for a lynch. Perhaps there are too many inactives to get enough votes. If I truly think that person is mafia, then I may use my second vote to help out. I'll see.

I just think claiming took some of the excitement away from the role, so I'm not as hyped to use it as I was before. I like to remain a bit "incognito" about my abilities. The less mafia know, the better.

 er ok... that's like saying "oh, once I claim I'm the cop, then there's no reason to use the ability because I'm out in the open". Your ability is still useful (assuming it's true) and you deliberately refraining from using it only helps mafia. If it was the type of doublevoter that lost the secret vote when you are forced to roleclaim, then I can see how you'd be "useless". But now you're saying that you're useless because you've claimed which makes no sense whatsoever. Being claimed or not claimed shouldn't matter if you're town.

Claiming a cop role is completely different. Claiming cop is even worse, if you have to claim early in the game. But normally by the end of the game, it is necessary to come out with any information you may have.

The point of the cop role is to investigate people, so you can find out who is guilty and who is not. It may be best to keep that information to yourself in the beginning- but at some point in time, you need to reveal your guilty players to help out the town. Or you could save an innocent player from being lynched.

It is probably the most useful town role in the game. And yes, I'd agree that deliberately refraining from revealing the results of your investigations can help mafia.

Doublevoter is totally different than cop. Claiming a cop makes it dangerous, but not useless. Claiming doublevoter can be dangerous and can make it useless. It ruins my strategy quite a bit to have it out in the open. For instance, I cannot vote two different people now- and see which bandwagon develops faster.

So my point is- a cop who is out in the open doesn't necessarily have to change his strategy, while I do.

If I vote two different people now, then I will be questioned about it, as people will know both votes are coming from me. So, now both of my votes must be on the same person. That is fine in some cases, but that is not the only way that I wanted to use this role. It is quite limited now- as I can only use my second vote, if I am certain that someone is mafia. Placing two votes on a suspect that I am unsure about is overkill. The only time this would be good, is if there is a deadline approaching, and we need to get a lynch. I clearly stated that in my last post. I also stated that I would do that if I had to. You seemed to have missed that part.

Claiming your role if you are town- no matter what the role is- absolutely does matter. I'm surprised you said that. We don't want a whole bunch of claimed townies out there, because they are prime targets for night kills. Mafia will kill someone with an exposed role, before killing an unknown. You know that very well saf.

And, as far as I know- I do not lose my second vote upon claiming. I said it's useless because I can't use the strategy I want, not because I can't use it at all.

You misunderstand my point. I'm saying that townies are going to be forced to claim at some point, usually through lynch pressure. While forcing them to claim, especially a town power role can be bad for town, it's not insurmountable. But your post basically says that you're not going to use the power anymore except in a few select areas.

If we use your logic, you ideally would have used the doublevote to pressure multiple cases. So basically, you're hedging your bets in the event that we have multiple cases going on at the same time.

First of all, the smaller the game, the less likely it is that we have 2 cases going on at the same time. Second of all, you're basically implying that you're going to sit back and let other people come up with cases and then you'll bandwagon on those.

And I don't see how putting two votes on a person is overkill. If we can get them to L-2 faster, that doesn't matter to me who exactly votes for it. So I really think that's a very flimsy excuse.

I know we've disagreed on how to play a role before (Resort Mafia) and quite frankly I really don't understand how your original strategy and your current declared strategy make much sense. As long as you're not speedhammering someone with the double vote, I think it's fine to use the ability. But you imply a very passive approach to using the extra voting power originally, which is why I question your interest in actually finding scum.

small fos chap for trying to get attention shifted to jonty on false prentenses with two joke votes and two votes from Vio (Which Jonty agreed to have placed on him). There's really no logic for getting Jonty to claim right now beyond the fact that he has the most votes which as demonstrated is a flawed scenario.
