Dear Tournament Fans,
The Tournament Organizers Usergroup has decided to launch a contest: “Tournament Organizer of the Year – 2011”. We got the inspiration for the format from the “Oscars” (thanks to DJ Teflon and sonicsteve), the yearly awards for the movie industry.
Our awards are “Primes” in honor of Optimus Prime, the Godfather of the CC Tournament World (thanks to barterer2002 for the idea).
We have put together a variety of categories for which the winning tournaments and their organizer will be awarded Golden, Silver and Bronze Primes, as well as two separate contests for the TO of the Year and the TO Career Awards (see below).
Everybody on CC is free to participate, however, you cannot nominate your own tournament(s) and every nomination needs to be accompanied by a valid reason for the nomination to be eligible for entry in the contest.
If you have any questions, please post them in this thread.
Have fun all!

Notes:
- Although there are many different ways to determine "tournament size", we decided to use the following method: Small, mid-sized, large and huge tournaments will be classified based on the number of entries (teams or players) times the number of games the winner or winning team have played. This would result in a score, which determines the size of the tournament. The tournament "scores scale" is as follows:
- Up to 500 = Small
- 501 to 1500 = Medium
- 1500 up to 4000 = Big
- More than 4000 = Huge
- A tournament series is defined as: A series of at least 5 completed tournaments that either follow a similar design and set-up, or, lead to a common goal, such as a Grand Finale or a championship. The titles of the tournaments should indicate that they are part of a series. For this contest at least one tournament of the series must have started and been completed in 2011. [Edited Jan. 11]
- Tournaments must have been successfully started and completed in 2011, with two exceptions:
- Tournaments that started before 2011 and were successfully completed after March 31st, 2011.
- Tournaments that have entered the finals and/or the final round before the end of the year and are completed no later than January 31st, 2012.

The following scoring system will be used to determine the performance of TOs with regards to the various categories:
- 0 = Not applicable/Don’t know
1 = Very Poor
2 = Poor
3 = Reasonable

To determine the final score the worst three scores and the best three scores will be taken away, the remaining 12 scores will be added up.
