Meet NATO's Newest General (Netherlands News)

In Dutchland,the jolly lady who runs the clerical office in the Ministry of Defense and always greets visitors with a smile and fresh bowl of sweets on her desk was appointed a Brigadier-General this week.

Hillie Beentjes, 48, is a secretary in the Royal Marechaussee. The ladies she works with say she loves her job and would make a good general. In addition to a pay bump, she will also get to wear a fancy uniform around. FUNNN!

Colonels in the Dutch army who were passed over for promotion to general in favor of the rotund soccer mom - who has never served in the military until this week - are upset Debbie Downers and the army union has complained about the move (the Dutchland army is unionized).

Dutchland is part of the wall of impregnable steel NATO has arrayed against the Russian Federation.

Hillie is excited about being NATO's newest general. "It sounds like a lot of fun!" she said and added, "I'm going to insist my troops call me General Mom!"

To be fair, "general of the dutch army" seems like more of a honorary title than anything.

She's not a secretary, she is had of "Planning & Control" of the Marechaussee (sort of Military Police). It's still a ridiculous decision of course.
