i see a few clans that are not members of the CLA that have signed up

-Must be members of the CLA (Adhere to the 1 competetive clan rule)
-Must have completed 2 competetive clan wars of at least 40 games

just wondering if you were really going to enforce this rule dosnt seem fair

we are not members of CLA, yet. as we still havent finished our second challenge, but we already applied for membership(again, waiting for second clan war to end) and since our second clan war is decided(atm its 36-17 for us with 8 games active) Chuck said its OK for us to participate(cause getting into CLA should be formality)...
while this is for our benefit, i think its OK to be loose a little on those rules. those conditions are there mainly to be sure clans participating are serious and can be trusted... and i think our roster is proving that

Owen, whatever you think you hate about the CLA isn't happening. I've been in there for several months now and although there is a lot of difference of opinion it has been a pleasant experience. You seem to care alot about CC and I applaud you for that so why not open your mind a little and join it. You can always work towards positive change rather than "REFUSE" to join and bitch about how things are.

Wow, I didn't realize how many new clans there were!

The third post has been updated. We have 24 clans signed up, still awaiting many sign ups from the clans ranked in the Top 5-10. I expect those to be coming soon!

As a couple have mentioned though, I have not checked all clans for eligibility by being in the CLA and having 2 clan wars by the time this starts. I would take any volunteers to go through the list and give me a quick update on all of the clans' statuses.

As far as I'm aware the Bullet Proof Bandits aren't represented in the CLA. Why does this have to be a requirement ? the tournament will be poorer without them.

I don't believe we (grim reapers) are in the CLA right now either - we've had a lot of turnover the past 6 months and many changes in leadership, I believe we used to be in it but our reps have left the clan or CC. I would hope exceptions would be made for established clans that have been around for a long time and have completed many, many wars. It's not like we're a startup clan who has zero track record. Even for new clans though I don't see why this requirement should be in place, just my thoughts.

I thought we discussed this before. CLA membership was not required. You just have to be CLA eligible. There are a lot of clans that are no longer in the CLA...including mine. We are not going to sign up just to be part of this nor do I feel (as a clan leader and a CD) that membership should be required. This is being run as a private event more than a CLA event anyway.

being a member of the CLA is a stupid rule to have IMO...its not like this is tied to the CLA so it shouldnt be a requirement.

Personally i would say clans must adhere to the 1 competitive clan rule and have at least 1 completed challenge and 1 active challenge or 2 challenges under their belt. I never understood why you had such strict rules for entry this event only comes around once a year i would rather see it be all inclusive even if that creates a few headaches along the way than see a clan excluded due to being new.

I agree with Cheme, let them play. I think the 2 challenges completed rule is much more important. But really, all I care about is that the clans are legitimate.

Ruling from the CD's is that any clan that has 2 completed wars and adheres to the 1 clan rule can play. Lets all move on. Being a member of the CLA is not required, but those are the 2 thing you need generally to get into the CLA. 2 Completed wars or 3 months as a clan. Obviously the 1 clan rule applies.

Sounds good. I am not in the CLA anymore. So I had no idea how active it was. I planned on looking into this more. It will be must qualify for the CLA.

And Bruce, please don't come here posting the "ruling from the CDs." As cheme even points out above, this has been and is a private event. I would hate for anyone to think the CDs have the power to create the rules here for the event.

2. about maximal allowed maps per a war, I suggest make quick voting in CLA with "1 map" and "2 map" options, so you will have relevant look about what most clans like about it, as it was very low opinions posted here about that.

3. One more thing I d like to suggest... there are between 5 and 7 games still active in CL4 phase 1. I suggest wait for those games to finish and be joined to F400 clan rank data, so we will have much more relevant ranking, with almost all clans having fresh 60 games included in their rankings. I think that will maybe cause delay of few days after April 1st, depending when all CL4 games finish.

4. Also, another suggestion... for example, if 40 clans sign up, that means 16 will play in play-in round and 24 will get play-in round bye. I suggest that those 24 clans get their seedings on the time when they start to play in CC3 (May, June instead of April) because then we will have fresh and more relevant seedings than April seedings which will be 1-2 months old when clans with play-in round byes join competition.

2. I've never posted a poll before, can I add one to the OP and then take it down after a day or two? I don't want it to stay up there permanently.

3. Timeline is pretty crucial for a lot of people. I will work with Gunn to evaluate the games still running and try to input all of that information from the CL4, but I don't think I will delay this any. It is best to avoid all delays this early in the tournament since the end drags out so long.

4. I like this somewhat, but I am not sure it is a good idea. What happens when clan #24 ends up being ranked 28. It will just start hurt feelings, especially if clan 25 lost their play in game but with the new rankings they shouldn't even of been in a play in round. I could just see bitterness coming from this. I think the safest thing to do is take one snapshot of the rankings and go with it.

We have to remember this derived from one set of power rankings, I don't think we should start throwing in extra (special) rules just because we are using a different ranking system for the seedings.
