When a group (or even an individual) of one race attacks a person of another race, that's a hate crime. Those are the new rules.

Hmm, kind of hard to justify that. What are you basing that on?

I love you how go back and forth depending on what race the victim is.

How so?

To be a hate crime, someone has to be attacked BECAUSE they were of another race, etc and because the person feels that is essentially reason enough for the criminal act. But perpetuating the belief that this is about any attack between races or people of differing ethnic identities, religions, etc, will lead to a lot more devision and hatred, so congratulate yourself for that.

My description was from the FBI website description. I think they trump you.

Anyway, Player, anybody, please explain to me by what legal procedure the thoughts, motive and intentions of the killer/rapist/assailant at the time of the crime are determined.

Another quick question. What makes the "hate crime" murder of a woman for her race more offensive, and thus deserving heavier punishment, than her murder for the contents of her purse, or her I-Phone?

My post was in response to your comments, and your failure to provide the details you now mention.

So, no they "trump" nothing.

Becuase the latter are individual acts and the first is not, is based on a sense of distorted "reason" and "belief" that, left unchecked results in extreme distortion of society. Simple crime is just that.. bad, but simple and much more easily corrected in the long run.

... So, the belief that "I can kill you and take your sh*t" doesn't qualify as "distorted "reason" and "belief" that, left unchecked results in extreme distortion of society.?"

... Interesting.

Detroit police chief says it wasn't a hate crime, just a gang attack.

Oh well. It's been reported by the media as non hate crime, so I feel better now.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/homeown ... n-burglar/

Three youngsters in the Dallas Fort Worth area learned to their sorrow that trying to pull a fast one by stealing from the town’s residents can be a fatal idea. In fact, one of them died in the attempt. According to KDFW Fox 4 Dallas Fort-Worth’s report on the subject:

Three youngsters rang the doorbell and then ran to the back of the home, prompting the homeowner to call 911.

The trio then allegedly kicked in the back door and entered the home, where the unidentified resident opened fire, killing 14-year-old Luis Avila.[...]

Neighbors said they saw a couple of kids who looked like they were up to no good running from the house. They also heard five gunshots, a pause and then three more shots.

I wonder if this story will get flipped upside down if it is found that one of the burglars was wearing a hoodie or had skittles on him.

Piece of shit!

A man has been arrested in connection with last month’s brutal beating of a tourist in Baltimore after viral video of the incident showed his alleged involvement.
Update: Man Arrested in Brutal Videotaped Beating of Tourist in Baltimore

Aaron Jacob Parsons surrendered to Baltimore police Friday after he was linked to the brutal videotaped beating of a tourist last month. (Image source: Baltimore Sun)

Aaron Jacob Parsons, 20, turned himself in Friday night and has been charged with robbery and assault, according to the Baltimore Sun, which detailed the footage:

In the video, filmed the night of St. Patrick’s Day, the seemingly disoriented victim is standing with a group of young people in front of the east building of the Clarence M. Mitchell Jr. Courthouse. As a girl dances against him, a man who police now say is Parsons grabs something out of the victim’s pocket. The man moves to recover his property, and the man identified as Parsons rears back and punches him in the face, knocking him to the ground. The victim is then stripped of his clothing and teased.
