I bought a new mouse today, by which I mean yesterday

It only cost 10€ and it's pretty good. The only thing I'd criticize is that it sometimes makes a slight squeaky sound when clicking which is slightly annoying but meh... Other than that I have no complaints, it's really accurate and feels good in the hand. Kind of like my dong!

My last two mouses have been logitechs, both were more expensive, and both developed problems - the latest one started double-clicking when I wanted to single-click, which was really annoying, it made me drink 2 potions of speed instead of one in Dungeon Crawl, and you don't want to waste potions of speed- they can save your life one day.

So I decided I wouldn't buy a logitech again, because apparently this clicking bug is really common in them? The internets told me so. But when I went mouseshopping, I could only see logitech and microsoft mouses, and I wasn't going to buy anything by microsoft out of principle. So finally I found this thing that was cheaper than all the other mouses - I mean, what they hey, they're all made in china or taiwan or some such these days anyway... I wish there were such things as fair trade mouses.

Speaking of fair trade, anyone tried Ubuntu cola?

I'm glad you chose to support the wages of those in China and Taiwan. Somewhere over there, some worker has marginally benefited by your decision. I think they also make Logitech and Microsoft mouses though...

i also recently bought a mouse, the logitech m305.

i like it as it is wireless and has a mini receiver i leave plugged into the usb slot. there is no need to remove it to put my netbook in its case.

I bought a 10 dollar mouse a few years ago. Forgot to bring it to college with me this semester, but as far as I remember, it works perfectly.

Two things I don't understand why people pay more than they should are mice and headphones. I recently bought 5 dollar headphones, which were a lot better than the 20 dollar pieces of shits I bought before them. It's beyond me that people would pay 30 dollars plus for headphones.

If you are luck enough to have a small head califone makes some headphones with a stereo/mono switch and independent ear volume switches for 20$. Really freaking loud and clear. However, they are designed for school children and are small but you could probably mod them.

About headphones, I agree, with the reservation that it does not apply to professional-class headphones, ie. studio equipment. I was once playing guitar on a recording studio and the headphones they had there were awesome. You could really notice the difference in sound quality compared to the common consumer headphones.

But if you only need headphones for listening to music from your ipod or whatever, then there's no need to pay more than 5€ for headphones.

If it makes a squeaking sound when you click it, maybe you got one of these:

The right answer to the wrong question is still the wrong answer to the real question.
