Why do you care? Seriously. Don't read it. I'm sick of the whining from people who don't like the forum. Either create something yourself or shut the f*ck up. See, now I have to have ridiculous discussions with other moderators about whether "You Americans are cunts" is bigotry or a fucking flame or what because you don't have any self-control at all. Dickhead.
Why do I care? Because it could be a fun place to visit, but it isn't, because it's full of political threads. If every new obama thread was to be merged it might just deter people from starting a new thread.
Let's take football for example. We football fans could of created a new thread about the Chelsea v Barcelona champions league game from the other night, but we don't. we head straight for the one thread and post in there.
If it was moderated / threads merged to stop political spam filling page 1, then I wouldn't of made the post in the first place.
Create something myself? I have and I do, but it's a pointless exercise when new threads are buried under so much American centric garbage threads.
It would seem that my problem is that because I speak English, I don't get a specific language forum. All I (and when I say I, I'm talking about me, the Canadians, Australians South Africans, new Zealanders and anyone else whose first language is English) get is the mainly American forum. the political and religious posters have ruined a forum for the rest of the world.
Americans are cunts is a flame not bigotry.
I've just looked up bigotry to check what bigotry is and it says this:
Bigotry is the state of mind of a "bigot," a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one who exhibits intolerance or animosity toward members of a group
Reading the above explanation, I would suggest that the political posters are the bigots, not me. They will bang on relentlessly about Obama being a commie or non American or a Muslim or a whatever else they have an axe to grind with.
intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions
I'll agree with you regarding a lack of self control. When I created the thread, I had just got back from the pub and 5 pints of lager helped me to be more outspoken and outrageous than usual.
But let's just imagine that I hadn't been drunk / outrageous and had posted a coherent post.
The mods wouldn't now be in ridiculous discussions. My complaint would of gotten buried under more political spam and forgotten about.
If me getting a ban means that just maybe things change in this forum, then it's a ban worth having.
To all the Americans that don't fill up page 1 with religious or political shite, I'm sorry for generalizing and swearing.
