Yeah, I've read that too. I haven't read the books, and I watched the first two episodes last night. I figure I'll have to see for myself, assuming it's good enough to hold my interest. The nice thing about HBO is that the dramatic acting is usually pretty good. I guess I'll see.

What is funny about the whole feminist thing is this is a world that is controlled by the people who have swords. In Latin the word for sword is arma which is also the same word they use for your dick; therefore, it is a world controlled by men. Yet, and this is only an assumption, the one person who will save this world is a woman, Dany.

This season has been much better for the acting so far, but kind of disappointing for spectacle. But yeah, Joffrey and Theon- dickheads.

Good to see another imp slap.

Arma is a word that can be used for sword in latin.

I think its been great. This season was bound to be a little slower as the second book featured more intrigue. I thought they did good job with the riot.

I can't fucking stand that little douche of a king, Joffrey. I haven't read the books, so I have no idea what happens, but I sincerely hope the Starks behead that little pompous f*ck.

Oh, and on that note, I pretty much despise the entire Lannister family, with the glaring exception of Tyrione.

The beauty of the books, which maybe doesn't come out in the show, is that everyone who has a point of view chapter, can be seen with a sympathetic (or empathetic) light. I don't believe Joffrey or any Lannister other than Tyrion had a point of view chapter.

The Kingslayer eventually does have a POV.

Pretty good opening to the series. I'm hoping this season ends as good as the first.

Near spoiler here.

Joffery wasn't referred to as the boy king. Joffery is in his teens and of marrying age, and unless I'm terribly mistaken Cersei is not his regent, merely an "advisor".

His opponents call him "the boy king" in the book.

The kid playing Joffrey is a good sport, because they apparently really slap him when shooting. I wonder how many takes it usually requires to get it right.

yea the second season has felt more clustered than the first due to all the new characters that got introduced but these last 3 eps have been more flushed out and they felt less rushed in each scene.

something for us all to love:

Finally got to watch episode last night, love how Little Finger is even more slimier in the series than in the book. Dany's character will come good soon. The rage of the dragon will come out soon.

One of the things that I like about the series so far is kind of that Littlefinger is less slimy. He comes across as a realist. That's why the series and the books work. The people who do well are the people who know how to play the system. They aren't pure politicians- Littlefinger has his beliefs.

But the pure ideologues are the least fit people to run a kingdom. Think of your favourite characters in the seasons so far- how many are pure? the best characters are those that compromise their ideals in the face of reality.

I'm kinda disappointed that they left out the Reeds from Greywater Watch. They're supposed to help Bran in his escape, and their father helps iirc in the war.

edit: Also, the Bastard of Bolton. He's the one that helps Theon in the hunt for Bran and Rickon.

I just got around to watching last week's episode...gotta say, that siege was badass.

I felt great joy when the hound abandoned Joffrey, saying "f*ck the King!".

Also, it wasn't really clear on whether Tyrion died or not. Surely he didn't, right? He's like the coolest character of the show, it wouldn't be the same without him.
