You... believe?

In the middle ages, average life expectancy was around 30 years, maybe 40 if you were lucky. 50 year olds were considered exceptionally old.

And the thing about chronic illnesses, that's just it, most of them manifest only at older ages. When we now are able to have much longer lives, there's much more chance for us to develop these illnesses as well.

i like to eat fresh vegtables and lean meats ( mainly fish [not catfish])

now i also eat cheesy mexican food and steaks and greasy bacon ( i try my best not to eat that way, but i will admit it does happen )

when i eat garbage like that if makes me feel terrible. i know this because i have experimented with my own body. no scientist tells me how i feel. i just know it. i guess you could say its a feeling of instinct.

because i know this, i rarely eat garbage food. and i feel so much better all the time.

for those that think i'm silly for eating like this, that's fine. i think your silly for eating doughnuts and cheesburgers and bacon.

also ice cream and enchiladas. oh yeah, cokes and monsters and those healthy drinks like diet cokes and lipton sweet green tea.
tea is healthy right?

have fun with your insulin shots when you turn 45. and your heart pills at 50.

maybe i'll have to take them too. but at least i'll know it's not because i stuffed all that garbage down my throat.

i share your wild thoughts there nietz. but i also understand why everyone is coming down so hard on you. it's because they are wild thoughts. those of us with them are definitely in the minority. and that's basically the definition of crazy. so just learn to deal with being crazy like myself. you'll be so much happier with yourself understanding that.

please drink responsibly

Perhaps most surprising, is that you can actually help slow aging, by eating very little.

Eating only the nutrients you need, not less mind you, will trigger a panic response in your body, and those who control it well, have slowed or even reversed their aging to significant degrees.

There is also a variation of the diet, eating every other day, which may achieve the same goal without perpetually feeling starved.

Its the only proven way to slow aging.

So, the three meals a day advice you were given since birth...equally, a crock of sugar...

What about amyloides that form in our body due that the liber cannot process certain substances, creating the possibilities to cells to become cancerous? (I'm seriously asking, not countering your point).

I believe that the data on the average life expectancy of humans in the past it's misunderstood. Many died young but not from chronic illnesses. And those who did die of natural age I believe had a long life. Like 150 years. Kidding, but they didn't die of heart attack.

There are many accounts of cancer healing by only fasting. There are fasting institutes in Europe. What you make of these? (Sincerely, as you appear to know about these stuff, I'm picking your brain).

I have a biology background, but I'm certainly not a doctor or anything, so don't rely on me by any means. Full disclosure: I work at a research university, so I could probably be accurately described as a Pharma-shill.

From my limited knowledge of amyloids, they are derived from materials that are usually in your body, so the idea that they are due to an inability of the liver to process them seems unlikely. But I dunno.

As far as fasting goes, there is usually some sort of spirituality that goes along with fasting. I think this is usually responsible for improved well being than any sort of deprivation. I think that's probably pretty subjective. I have a somewhat sensitive blood sugar maintenance issue where I get headaches, shakes, and a pissy mood if I don't eat. So with a lack of spirituality, I'm just a dick when I'm fasting.

Oh, dont misunderstand me...I tried it for a week and couldn't get it done at all. While I believe the science is sound enough, I simply don't live the lifestyle of have the kind or job that makes it practical or realistically possible, though I could be wrong. I do however, think its an important piece of information that less food, is better. We tend to think of food as something we need, and certainly we do, but knowing that every bite after the necessary amount is killing you...well...maybe it could create pause...

I did however, after being reminded about asparatime, embark on another attempt to fully drop it from my diet....the thought literally scares me, which reinforces the fact that it must be the correct decision.
