I thought there was a nation-wide epidemic of sneaker pimps. These sneaker pimps are organized in a loose coalition which controls the production and distribution of sneakers. In this world, sneakers could only be rented for certain periods of time, and ownership of sneakers could only be attained by a certified sneaker pimp.
