Why be assholes about it? The commentators will tell us, because the players know it as well. The scores are updated to the trainers when a goal is made and half-time the players will know also. The suspense is even greater when you know the other game's goal count, so I kinda like how they keep the entire pool status updated every minute.

isn't holland's elimination the shock of the tournament?

PS: yeah i know holland still has a chance but it's so slim we can almost ignore it.

I'm happy for Greece that they made it. It's the last Euro they have.

Otherwise stupid of course that they didn't accept the bag with money from the Russians to lose the game. Now the other EU countries have to pay them.

Greece are hosting the next edition: Drachma 2016.

As a Russian I'm still fucking seething at this result.

Also f*ck you to UEFA for once again muddling up the rules, Russia would've gone through on goal difference except UEFA changed it to head to head results.

This is just unbelievable really. Fucking football

when did they change that rule?
seemed well unfair looking at the table that a team with more goals scored on equal points went out.

I enjoy watching the matches, and knowing the score makes it not enjoyable. I was lucky, this time. The announcers on network I watch (TSN) didn't mention the Greece Russia game at all. I made sure to mute and walk away during halftime, and shut the tv off immediately after the final whistle. I had to wait a couple hours for the replay to be posted, but I managed top watch both matches without knowing the score ahead of time. The announcers for the second game I watched didn't mention the other game either (well, they did, but not the score), so I'm hoping they'll keep it up through the rest of the group matches.

I've always been wondering...
Why do "tough" guys have make up on their face and wear an armor to play some pale imitation of Rugby?

i've got nothing against handegg. it's actually a nice sport. it's exciting and fun to watch. despite the helmets and body armour the guys do get hurt sometimes because all that protection also motivates them to hit harder.
my only beef with this sport is that it's called football while real football is called soccer.

They also refer to rounders as 'baseball'.

I'm totally psyched about the high likelihood of a Greece-Germany quarter final hitting our screens in the near future.

i think it's a cool rule chance because it promotes fighting till the end. otherwise the teams that did very well in the first matches have a free ride in the 3rd match, while with the new rule, even the underdogs can get into the quarters by defeating a stronger team. like what happened to Russia. Greece earned their place by beating Russia.

awesome, portugal trashed holland and only bad luck and poor finishing made the score so tight. it could have easily ended 5-2 for portugal.
