New York to Repeat Chicago’s Parking Meter Catastrophe

Sure, it makes sense for Bloomberg personally – he gets to govern for another year without having to make tough decisions on budget cuts and taxes – but for the city in the long run, it’s a disaster. Criminal, even. This is like a man with a wife and dozen dependent children selling his family's lottery winnings to J.G. Wentworth so he can go on a skiing vacation in Gstaad with his mistress before the divorce goes through.

If I lived in New York I would be PISSED. The above quote is actually pretty spot on. I can't imagine how this decision could possibly be a more popular alternative to stepping on some toes while balancing the budget. Not sure why I first heard about this in a blog rather than on a legitimate news site, but I guess there's some trivial bullshit we have to pay attention to while local governments pawn off our infrastructure.

First the soda, now the parking meters. Is Bloomberg a complete fucking idiot?

By 'the soda' are you referring to the banning of gallon-sized sodas?
