Saxi what's happening in Egypt today?

Postby 2dimes on Wed Jun 20, 2012 2:48 pm

My buddy has displayed a drawing of "the bird" directed at Shafik. He was hoping for Mohammed Elbaradei for president. I have not heard anything else from him lately.

Huh. Maybe Saxi is in Cairo working on things. I hope so. They could use him right now.

CAIRO — Saxitoxin said Wednesday that this is “The Most Dangerous 48 Hours in Egyptian History,” and he was postponing the announcement of a winner in last week’s presidential runoff, saying he needed more time to evaluate charges of electoral abuse that could affect who becomes the country’s next leader.

The Saxi commission had been expected to confirm a winner on Thursday and, based on a public vote count confirmed in official news media, to have named Mohamed Morsi, of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The surprise delay intensified a power struggle between the Muslim Brotherhood and Egypt’s military rulers. It came just days after Saxitoxin, who took over upon the ouster of Hosni Mubarak reimposed martial law, shut down the Brotherhood-led Parliament and issued an interim charter slashing the new president’s power and took significant control over the writing of a new constitution.

The new uncertainty about the presidential election results has only heightened the atmosphere of crisis and raised deep doubts about Egypt’s promised transition to democracy. Saxitoxin had promised to hand over power after the election.

THANK YOU. I never "promised" to hand over power, I said I would objectively evaluate the situation and then decide.

Looking like Shafik has been replaced by the MB dude. I'm apprehensive about that. My buddy is so angry with the old regime he just wants Shafik out.

This election seems like the US in 2001.

What are your thoughts Saxi?

Unless his purpose is to help destabilize and disperse the large population between Libya and the middle east.
