We could not find the grunt today. It is odd, we’re not picking him up on camera nor with all the personal looking for him. It’s like he just vanished into thin air.

I’ve decided to send the men to their bunkers for some well needed sleep. If we haven’t found anything today perhaps we’ll find something in the [i]mourning. I’m signing off for the night. Even though this is making me uneasy about how we just couldn’t find anything when we know that there are survivors on board.[/i]

sorry to speak at night but this is the second time you use mourning instead of morning.
is this some sort of hidden clue or just a spelling mistake?

We have just received news that an unknown object named Halo was found while the Pillar of Autumn made their escape. Everyone is dead including Captain Keyes. This is a great loss to the UNSC. Keyes was a brave and courageous captain. His tactics has lead the UNSC to many victories over the past few decades. He will be sorely missed.

That is only part of the bad news. This morning when we checked the crew, we found a few dead and a few missing. I’ve sent out a search party but the notable dead are

James Wiedfield (Vodean) Town VT is MIA. Presumed dead since he didn't check in this mourning.
[i]???(Pancakemix) has been killed.

So far only Pancake’s body has been found. A soldier recognized him right away as one of the sergeants on the ship. His dog tags are missing and his clothes or torn to shreds. It’s like he was mutilated by an elite or brute at close quarters combat. There’s signs of a struggle but it’s obvious who won.

Vodean has not been found yet, the crew are still looking for his body around the ship.

I do not like this. It’s been a while since I’ve seen my men drop around me like flies. The strike teams are being sent out again today to find whoever is doing this to my men. I want them found, and I want them neutralized immediately!

crap. after 2 quiet nights we have our first death. however i'm unsure about pancakemix. is that a good death or a bad one?
in other words was he town? mafia?

i'm inclined to say he's not mafia since i previously assumed the covenant are mafia and the scene says he was killed by a brute (covenant). so best case scenario he was a 3rd party "evil" faction (Serial Killer or Cult Leader)
but why aren't we getting his name and role? is this purely a Mod decision or can there be a role that remains anonymous when dead?

or perhaps he was Mark, the infected guy?

also what's the deal with vodean? if he's MIA could he be actually in some form of block mode? let's say somebody has the role of kidnapper and he can kidnap somebody and that person is put on hold. if the kidnapper dies then the captive returns to play, but until that happens the victim can't say anything or do anything. or he's simply dead and jak's just screwing with us?

Being MIA can not be a good thing considering the night scenes.

I firmly beleive we were on to somthing with Gordon and now one of those who voted him is conviniently mia.

Yes it was very convenient soldier, 1 night everyone is clear,then this. And ensuring It would point in my direction. Hmmm that wouldnt be very smart of me though would it.

Perhaps someone is trying to set you up Gordon, but before I beleive anything you have to say you need to explain why you looked up alien roles as well. the only info we have to go on is that statement you made about Vodean having to worry because his name did not come up. He is now Dead and was telling the truth.

at this point we're in the same situation as we were at the start of the game but with 1 dead and 1 MIA. so if anybody has a theory it would be great to hear it, otherwise a random lynch is the way to go.

As I said IB 2 months ago I studied up on Halo when jak put that game together,and read the story line on wiki, when you go to wiki and look up characters it gives all of them,so no I didnt specifically look up alien names. And as far as I read vodean is MIA not dead,which makes me think I might have been right.

in my first game (you were in it too) i was mafia and i had a name. all mafia had names. in fact the power roles all had names. the only people with no names where the VTs who received generic things like Engineer/Security Guard/Analyst.

judging by this logic, vodean's claim would actually seem fake because he supplied a name for his role and he said he's a VT.

but i think that this whole personalised/generic name thing is not a rule. i think each mafia mod does as he wishes in this regard.

You cant say you tracked someone and offer nothing. we are down to 7 people and do not know what we are up against. Who are the good soldiers and why would you hold that info back seeing how you have been forced to claim.

Second what set off my alarms initially is that you said you "cross checked" Vodeans claim with both humans and alien. The alien part is what set me off. Please explain.

How can you be so sure? If you say you're innocent, that's 1 who isn't scum. You said you've checked up on 2 others, so you think they're not scum. That's 3. How do we know pancake is not scum? Did it ever say that?

you also say you watched 2 people for 2 nights.

who are those innocents?

now, why do you think that just because the persons you watched did nothing then they must be innocent? they could very well be both mafia.
let's say one is a godfather who obviously didn't do anything cause godfathers don't have night actions. and the other could be a mafia goon who also has no night action. or a mafia killer that was blocked and hence he could not do anything. or a mafia janitor that had no body to hide in night one so didn't do anything.
there are several anti town roles that explain no night action. so i find it really weird that you're so sure the people you watched are town especially since i'm under the impression you're an experienced player.

to be honest this sounds a lot like a plan. you claim you're a watcher and know 4 innocents. one is you, one is dead and there are 2 more which you did not reveal (presumably to protect them). obviously we'll ask for proof and you'll finally say their names and they'll step forward to corroborate your plan claiming they are town (either VT or blocked). when in fact all 3 of you are the mafia.

either i'm right or these mafia games are making me see conspiracies everywhere.
so i'd like some input from more experienced players regarding my theory.

DiM, I like your thinking on it, but that's only assuming there are 3 mafia. 30% of the players being mafia is a bit high, isn't it? Especially for only 9 players. The most damning evidence I see for Gordon is that he didn't come forward and tell us he was watching people, and only said so when we started looking at him a bit more. The only explanation I can see for this is that he was afraid Mafia would kill him off, but then again someone could always save him during the night as well.

Also, the fact that Vodean vanished after being the lead collaborator against JG is pretty suspicious.
