To contrast this, I have never been carded once when buying cigarettes or lottery tickets.
... and getting carded is a problem because???
If you look under 25yo you should be carded for cigarettes too.

Do you actually know how female genitals work, AoG?
I can draw you a diagram if it helps.

I actually buy them for my grandparents, and yes I look quite a bit under 25.
That was my point, I am not disagreeing that I should be carded; I'm saying Hastings and Game Stop are more on the ball than major drugstores.

3 year olds aren't usually interested in porn, or capable of using a computer.

natty dread wrote:jimboston wrote:I simply propose that we require the code to identify the material...
And how exactly do you propose this would be enforced? Who is going to go through the code of all 367 million websites and see which ones are following the rule? And what will be done to the websites that don't comply?
Furthermore, how would you going to get every country in the world to agree to enforce this rule? Do you even realize the internet exists globally?
And not least of all: who would pay for all of this? Taxpayers?
If you're so worried that your kids might accidentally see a nipple or two, you can just keep them away from the computer, or don't let them use it unsupervised. But don't expect everyone else in the world to pay for your kids.

Porn is not allowed on youtube.

natty dread wrote:jimboston wrote:At the same time it shouldn't pop up on them.
Is there actually a single browser these days that doesn't block pop-ups? And no, IE doesn't count - I'm talking about real browsers...

jimboston wrote:Define porn.
jimboston wrote:There is plenty of content on Youtube that you don't want your 5yo to see... that she can easily find starting at at Disney Princess video.

-> Porn poping up in random places... like my previously example on Youtube... you get lots of innappropriate stuff within a few clicks of kid stuff.

Simple regulation.

Naked people fucking.

You know, I think I saw one of her videos on pornhub the other day. Can't link to it here, obviously. Good stuff.
Anyway, I think it's great Octomom has found herself honest work and is able to support her family. Good for her.
I assume you agree, since you're always ranting against government handouts?

natty dread wrote:jimboston wrote:It could start with voluntary set of standards.
Oh? Well, if the people wanted such a set of "voluntary standards", why aren't they implemented already?
And you keep avoiding the issue that there's practically no way this could be enforced - why do you think there's so much malicious sites that attempt to flood you with malware? Why do you think spam exists? If it were that easy to regulate the internet, those things wouldn't exist. Luckily, internet isn't that easy to regulate. This is a good thing, all things considered.

Do my senses detect natty favoring a free market approach to the Internet???

Get back to me when you have some kids.

Oh, I get it. You want to raise taxes for small businesses because you're too lazy to watch your kids. Gotcha.
