Who is Huma Abedin? What is the fuss all about?
Night Strike wrote:Her father, mother, and brother are all active participants in the Muslim Brotherhood and Michelle Bachmann dared to release a statement asking how she was granted a security clearance to be a top deputy at the State Department. For most people, one of the top possible disqualifications to receiving a security clearance is having direct family ties to a hostile country or a terrorist organization. Huma Abedin has 3, so Bachmann asked how she gained her clearance. Immediately, John McCain, the biggest lover and promoter of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorists, derided her comments and called for John Boehner to remove her from the house intelligence committee.

John McCain wrote:These allegations about Huma and the report from which they are drawn are nothing less than an unwarranted and unfounded attack on an honorable woman, a dedicated American and a loyal public servant... The letter and the report offer not one instance of an action, a decision or a public position that Huma has taken while at the State Department that would lend credence to the charge that she is promoting anti-American activities within our government... These attacks on Huma have no logic, no basis and no merit. And they need to stop now.
John Boehner wrote:I don't know Huma. But from everything that I do know of her, she has a sterling character, and I think accusations like this being thrown around are pretty dangerous.

Utter fucking bollocks. Where are you getting your narrow minded propaganda from this time> Her father is dead, so pretty far from being an "active member of the Muslim Brotherhood", he died in 1993.
Her mother is an associate Professor of psychology.
Dude, seriously, what the hell are you trying to do with this?John McCain wrote:These allegations about Huma and the report from which they are drawn are nothing less than an unwarranted and unfounded attack on an honorable woman, a dedicated American and a loyal public servant... 1. That seems like a really strange move for McCain to make. I don't get that.
2. You're certainly right that having direct family ties (or even indirect, non-family ties) to a hostile country or terrorist organization is a pretty serious possible disqualification to recieving a security clearance. By the same token, it is not at all a guarantee of such disqualification, as I've known a number of folks in the military with such ties that had extremely high clearances.
Night Strike wrote:McCain has been a top promoter of the Arab Spring and the Muslim Brotherhood specifically as being a big, "largely secular" part of it. From what I read of a response letter Bachmann and others wrote (don't know if it was in that link or not), all they are doing is asking for an inquiry into the justification for the security clearance and not outright saying that it was improperly granted. They're trying to do their job of oversight on intelligence issues, but some people immediately jumped on them for asking questions.

So the response to your nonsense is that you think McCain should be investigated? How far does your conspiracy spread? It seems to encompass anyone, left or right, dead or alive, foreign or national, that doesn't agree with you.

Night Strike wrote:Sorry, my statement about her father being an active participant was a typo as the original letters all reference him as deceased. Here's the 16 page, cited, response letter released by Bachmann. The bold parts after the numbers are the parts of the letter she is responding to in this current letter. (Timeline: the 5 committee members sent letters to 5 agencies, someone wrote a reply letter denouncing the inquiry, Bachmann released this letter on her own citing justifications for why the inquiry is necessary.)

This is pretty vicious of you NS. What do you want?
Can you at least come out and say that her family members aren't active participants in the Muslim brotherhood?
Or are you so cowardly that you you'll throw mud and run away without admitting fault?

So I misstated something while trying to explain what was going on. So sue me.

I don't feel that I would be vindicated by asking you for money, even if that was feasible. It'd be nice if you explained where you got your info from though. That's something you could provide.

NS found out that her dad is an active participant in the Muslim Brotherhood, although, of course, he's been dead for about a decade. Maybe he'll let us know where he found his information.

Members of the intelligence committee wanting an inquiry into how a person whose family has ties to terrorist organizations was able to get high level security clearances at the State Department.

Because said family member has been dead for two decades?
