Woodruff - with a clever modified version of 'A Knight's Tale'

Funkyterrance - something about the renaissance fair, and cold water on his crotch.

lord voldemort - haiku, for me, happy.

_sabotage_ - the sleuth who found my twin.

Viceroy63 - promises game chat with fibrous wit and humor.

trinicardinal - with the record for longest sentence of the year.

Gillipig - what was Ms Gillipig was trying to say?

Dibbun - with a long soliloquy, original to the core... perhaps written while on a toilet seat

AslanTheKing - something a la Red Badge of Courage.

AndyDufresne - played it safe with Gil Elvgren

Who would YOU pick?

I will wait till the weekend to decide...

I'm glad my humor wasn't wasted on you, Robinette.

If I were you I would just play 1v1 with woodruff and stop being such a hussy. You'll play against a real charmer and have your lucky #200 in the bag. It's a win-win scenario really.

It can be, sure. There is humor in all things. Never heard about gallows humor, for instance?

That doesn't necessarily mean it's appropriate, of course...but funny and appropriate are not necessarily congruent. In this particular case, I see little that I would consider inappropriate.

wow... still only 10 suitors...

this is empirical evidence that CC is truly in decline..

why in the past, on open chance to play with Robinette and to enjoy participating in the game chat, had people camping out for days in the cold to get a measly raffle ticket just to have a chance of being let inside where they then would still have only a remote shot of being selected to join 50 final contestants for the elimination rounds to decide just WHO would be allowed to join in one of these games.

And by now, the level of prose alone would be worthy of publishing in hardback edition...

Lack himself posted his best ninja turtle words, and he even entered submissions with his multies to increase his chance of being selected.. and let us not forget the countless submissions by the then heros and villans of cc... what has happened? this time around we don't even have a single presidential candidate vying for a seat... has the whole world gone limp?

I find myself in complete agreement. I really thought this would be a thread for the ages. I am disappoint. I will maintain that they all fear me, simply because it feeds my ego.

haha, no...
... I plan to invite the 5 best responses to join me in a 6p std esc game...

Oh I liked your Gil Elvgren selection, to be sure...
but it was lacking a verbal context to tie it to this thread,
now that would have make it a shoe-in...

But there are still a few days to change that...
Perhaps you can still make the cut...
It wouldn't be hard to bump a few of those that are "on the bubble"

Well I want BOTH a funny game, and some good competition...
The theory being that anybody intelligent to offer worthwhile submission, is likely intelligent to play a competitive game...
Or is the other way around, lol...

Regardless, if you can offer good competition,
then surely the challenge of a good submission is not beyond your reach, is it?

Cause i will win no matter what
so try me out, give me a shot!

Mike

P.S: as english is not my mother-tongue this might not be as good as my german poems.
Hope you like it anyway!

You should do a poem in German, it'd make your entry extra unique.

200 Siege, stolze Zahl
nun hast du die Qual der Wahl.

Wählst du mich so werde ich,
dich besiegen sicherlich.

Tust du es nicht ist für mich klar
dass es Angst vor mir nur war.

Ok so i added a german poem as well, will give you the translation
as soon as im on your list :)

Andy, YOU should submit a poem, short story,,, melding CC with silent film stars perhaps

Oh, and Mike, Zeit Geist! well done, you have trumped your way onto the list...
Although, still accepting submissions till... say... the end of the work week (too busy the next few days),
so the competition may get stiffer...

I'll be there in spirit, through suggesting something that allowed Janomike to make it onto the list possibly.
