Maybe there could be some local politician playing here that could vote "Somewhat Weak" at best.
Anyone who could legitimately vote Somewhat Strong or Very Strong would not be playing CC and certainly not have time to post in these Forums.

Also, I think TGD has a potentially strong influence, even if it may be unactivated on a daily basis. Short of politicians, CPAs and attorneys have the most potential to force action. A tax attorney? That's basically like having two dicks.

Yeah, turn on, tune in, and drop out. Instead of understanding the role of the most influential organization of the world, let's smoke pot to get dumb and then advocate that people should be talking less about the federal government and more about... what exactly? Some ego-tripping on the interwebz about banging bitches? Awesome.

Smoke pot to get dumb? And if you don't think banging bitches is the most important thing than your priorities are out of line not mine. And to be clear I don't even advocate marijuana use all that much here. I participate in the video game discussions because I'm pretty knowledgeable in that realm. Sorry I don't have time to keep up with American politics. I'd rather not focus on how I'm getting fucked in the ass by the guy on the left or right that I didn't put in office. I'm young, there's more pressing things to deal with
BigBallinStalin wrote:How would you rate your influence over the US federal government?
(if you're not a US citizen, then please post your vote ITT but not in the poll. You can give a reason in your post too!)
Since most within here view their influence on the federal government, then what is to be done?
Continue voting on presidential elections?
How can you maximize your influence on the federal government? Through which means?

Here is what I could do, in no particular order:
(1) Form a political action committee and run campaign advertisements for the politicians of my choice.
(2) Vote.
(3) Run for office.
(4) Join a political campaign.
(5) Lobby (or give money to lobbyists).
I've contemplated (4). I've done (2). I may still do (1) if and when I can get some more money. I'm pretty sure I give money to lobbyists (5), albeit indirectly. Ironically, I'm pretty sure my lobbying money is served for cross-purposes. For example, I am a member of the American Bar Association which gives money to Democrats. I'm also a member of a Chamber of Commerce which gives money to Republicans.

That is illegal in Canada during elections. However, it appears at least one and maybe more of the Canadian political parties broke several laws during the last national election.Frigidus wrote:The best way to get what I want would be to make a shit load of money and spend it on attack ads for politicians I don't like. I give money to banks who profit while screwing me out of my money... so I give money to republicans
