Also, I think TGD has a potentially strong influence, even if it may be unactivated on a daily basis. Short of politicians, CPAs and attorneys have the most potential to force action. A tax attorney? That's basically like having two dicks.

And to be clear I don't even advocate marijuana use all that much here. I participate in the video game discussions because I'm pretty knowledgeable in that realm. Sorry I don't have time to keep up with American politics. I'd rather not focus on how I'm getting fucked in the ass by the guy on the left or right that I didn't put in office. I'm young, there's more pressing things to deal with

I'll admit that preferences are subjective, but telling someone 'f*ck you' for being concerned about the weak accountability which citizens have on the federal government while then saying 'lol i dunno and i dunno care, got more important stuff to do!' is a gross display of ignorance.

Your ignorance may be rational in that you don't value the influence of politics as much as immediate gratification, but it's ignorance nonetheless. I'll call it like I see it, so deal with it.

Voting is important, but I will borrow an old slogan for the real key-- namely, "think globally, act locally". However, I would change that to "think of the future, act now".

The real truth is that we have seen a SIGNIFICANT loss in power and avenues of dissent in the past 3 decades. We have not re-entered the McCarthy era, but in some ways what we have now is almost more scary. The fringes are allowed, but moderates are consistantly labeled as "fringe" and intensively ridiculed or dismissed.

(1) Form a political action committee and run campaign advertisements for the politicians of my choice.
(2) Vote.
(3) Run for office.
(4) Join a political campaign.

I've contemplated (4). I've done (2). I may still do (1) if and when I can get some more money. I'm pretty sure I give money to lobbyists (5), albeit indirectly. Ironically, I'm pretty sure my lobbying money is served for cross-purposes. For example, I am a member of the American Bar Association which gives money to Democrats. I'm also a member of a Chamber of Commerce which gives money to Republicans.

That is illegal in Canada during elections. However, it appears at least one and maybe more of the Canadian political parties broke several laws during the last national election.

Actually, banks also give money to Democrats. So, you're also hedging your bets!
