actually this reminds me. i have another political correctness scenario for you.

was out watching an anti-japan protest in beijing last week. saw a placard which translated literally as 'give me two guns, one to kill all the japanese men and another to rape their women with'. was later given a quick rundown of japanese war crimes by a colleague of mine, in the office, and told that i shouldn't use japanese accessories.

doesn't that just make you want to weep all over those trendy, lenseless spectacles of yours?
You seem to be an avid fishing enthusiast.

What's the best time of year to fish in the East China Sea?

where does that fit on your 'political correctness' scale?
It fits into the place where she should try to understand WHY IT IS that "almost all the great things achieved throughout history have been achieved by men".

That being said, I still don't see why the OP's boss' statement is a big deal.
...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.

Its shows a lack of awareness of history, and particularly an understanding of why that has been so.

Put it this way.. how many achievements in the US have come from blacks or Asians prior to 1950 or so? Partly, they did not always get credit for what they did, partly they did not have opportunity. It is the same for women.

She isn't considering that for all of history men have been oppressing women, and that is why men have achieved the great things. Men have also had the biggest screw ups in history as well. Unfortunately I don't think the issue of men keeping women in a lower-power position is going to change.
