If "groups" is not under consideration, I could go for "Conquer Club Confederations" Then each group could call itself what it wanted and I think all of the different groups do all qualify as confederations.....

Confederations
(Keeps the militancy, but also adds a socio-political overtone.)

Orders
(because we know how many Harry Potter fans there are out there)

I think either of those would be okay.

The word clan makes me think of a group of people, not countries.

Well I was planning on starting the "order of the purple tentacle" at some stage...

Clan...
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Clan

I'm proud to be English, and want nothing to do with wearing blue face paint, bits of tartan and a kilt

Group or Gang sounds better

Gang..

Group...

Gang does it for me. Sounds like a bunch of nutters out for a fight.

Personally I like the word "regiment." It gives it a nice military feel to it. A division seems too large a denomination for these small groups. "Company" or "Battalion" also have a nice military ring to them, and are also more personal, and smaller scale than something like calling them divisions, or armies, or even corps. I think the elite core has ruined the word corps anyway.

I think the word clan is too overly used by all the other online games out there, along with the word guild. Anyway, it's not as classy sounding as the military words, and CC is an up scale establishment.

The word "alliance" here has too much meaning to be used for this idea, I think. We have in game alliances, and also rules about secret alliances. Seems like it would almost be promoting that to newer people who don't know better, maybe?

Anyway, my vote is for battalion.

The Churchhill War Cabinet Battalion
The Elite Core Battalion
The Imperial Dragoons Battalion
The Dirty Birds Battalion

Fancy?

tucker, I think we are trying to move away from the overt military connotations, but have enough ambiguity that people can imagine they are hard core claners on one side or just a group of friends who play togeather on the other.

I think we are going to stick with confeds for now, we think it leaves it sufficiently open to all interpretations

Chitter chatter

Postby Jgood on Sun Jul 02, 2006 11:19 pm

Let each group come up with their own group name, Clan, Group, Mop Xigames, etc.
It would be more interesting to take on a Clan fom Scotland, Or a group of Freaks fom San Francisco, Or a Gaggle of Rednecks from Kentucky, Or even a Whorehouse from Amsterdamn.
I don't care, I just want to fight and conqeur the World, or Space, or CCU

OK, so name change again :)

Lack has deemed "Usergroup" to be the official term

You may now call yourselves the "dirtybird whorehouse" if you so choose...although that would be a little wierd ;)
