CSIL Committee Open Floor Discussion

Postby GrazingCattle on Thu May 03, 2007 1:27 pm

The Community Suggested Ignore List (CSIL) Committee has been gathered to discuss current players that have been accused of hindering the CC experience in most of their games.

The current members are: (in alphabetical order)

Coleman
Freezie
Georgerx7di
Guilty_biscuit
Kclborat

At a later date the Committee may add more members. If a Committee member steps down from the committee he has the right to nominate his successor.

If you would like to voice your opinion on a subject under discussion, feel free. This is where you can post how you feel about the accused and his actions. If you feel that the person doesn't deserve to be added to the CSIL feel free to defend his actions.

The only people who will vote are Committee members. If you would like to become a Committee member contact me and I will discuss with the committee how they feel about it and they will vote.

ANY member of the CC community can be a member. Good behavior is going to make it more likely that you make it on the list, but your views on the CSIL won't bar you from becoming a member.

To start an application just post your name and general information that the committee might help the committee decide about your application. All entrants will be added in twos so the number of members is always odd.

Thanks in advance for all your help and you opinions,

GC

I am going with that Georgerx7di said on the other thread and show up fmystic as a possible other member to placed in the list.

From his feedbacks, and some other games that aren't done, he seems to be delaying A LOT in RT games. A look at the games' logs, he often take 5-10 minutes to start his turns, then some 3-20 hours.

5-10 minutes is not a lot, but considering he did that in quite often, with a bit of almost deadbeating, I consider he is doing that on purpose.

The feedback and ignore systems work fine.

well, if you use the ignore list then you give us the authority. If you don't then we have no authority. It's very democratic.

No its not! if it were then the committee members would be elected. ie voted for in an open election. Seems to me more like a military coop led by grazing cattle who has appointed his mates as 'committee members'

I say open a thread where anyone can be nominated for committee then the whole community gets to vote on whether or not you are elected.

I'm not one of GC's buddy's. I never knew him before I posted on the original thread. And as for your comment, this is fair because we have no power. It's only if people want to use this thread. Besides, if you think this is being run poorly, then you can setup your own committee and do it differently. Maybe people will like your list better and use it instead.

they don't have any real authority in a legal-rational sense, they have charismatic authority one could argue on the surface. however, they are suggesting a guideline for bad players that should enter this ignore list and it is completely up to you whether you listen to it or ignore it

Yes. Let's all form Committees and start prosecuting other players in the forums. That's the way to do it.

However, I must admit that I have gotten some use out of one of your lists. Added myself six players to my personal ignore list earlier today.

Thanks guys, keep up the good work! :D

The feedback and ignore system IN FACT work fine. The only flaw, is if someone with tons of bad feedback joins last, you're screwed. This list is kinda an add-on for people to see who SHOULD be ignored without having their games screwed. It's not a persecution list, it's an add-on to the actual list we have. It's not CC sanctionned for nothing. We're only trying to help.

Most of the people that will end on the list will probably be on quite some members' list already, but in order to put an halt to the number of games beeing screwed, you have a common ignore list. You're free to ignore it or use it, it's not like we care.

The only time I actually talked to GC, was on that thread. He choosed people who sounded interested and wouldn't screw everything because of personal oppinion.

We have no power. We're forcing you of nothing. There is no democracy, no dictadorship, no millitary thingies...We're a bunch of people who care about disabling screwed games ASAP. That's it. If you got a problem, then feel TOTALLY free to ignore this thread. You think I post in EVERY threads? Nope, I don't. Why should you?

And...any further problems should go to the actual List thread..Unless you really want to spam and be an annoyance here.

Whoever added us to your ignore list...Go ahead. Not like I care at all. You might be missing on some great games, but if that is how you feel. Good job. You just did yourself and ourself ( at least me ) some good.

Actually I tried contacting people who would obviously not be considered my "buddy", but they each refused for a variety of different reasons, namely they were too busy.

Actually I am too busy these days as well. This is my last day logged into CC. Work and other responsibilities need to take priority. as many of you know this site can be addicting, so I am going cold turkey. To all those in my games , my sincerest apologies. I won't be returning.

In the coming months I hope I get the chance to jump in a RT and see how my #1 favorite web site has grown.

As far as the CSIL goes I hope that someone can carry on it en devours. I never anything more than a rallying point for that project.

To those who know me, thanks for all your help and support. Thanks Fireside poet for all the fun, thanks Eddymush for your great tutorship, thanks to all those who made me skip school just to log in and see you all.

To those who weren't my biggest fan, I just want to encourage you to remember that respect for your opponent is what makes this site fun. when it turns into a competitive ego competition it is just like the world outside. I hope CC can be a safe and fun place to play for my children. Thats why I always tried to be respectful, but I am still human with moments of weakness. Thank you for treating me with respect!

You all made CC my favorite place to play. Good luck all!
