So new topic

would people like to talk about the "experienced" players in this game? people who play very strong town games, or mafia etc.

Besides Rodion always being mafia playing to someones perceived meta is not always a good idea.

We could do as you ask but it would prove nothing except create WIFOM theories. (Wine In Front of me)

do you consider yourself a vet?
who else do you consider a vet

i doubt categorizing people some people as more experienced will lead to WIFOM

-Ish but it also can direct peoples night actions... Also, this depends on what your classification of a "vet" is. Most of us here have played at least more than one Mafia game on this forum, but does that make us a vet? Who knows? We don't really consider vets all that much, but we might give breaks to noobs who don't know any better in the short run. Overall it doesn't matter. Its who is being scummy, and who isn't. So either way it isn't a good indicator, and shouldn't be considered when playing. (The only thing that it might tell you is that they might be better at hiding their tracks.)

Im flattered, but my point was ok, so hes got this list of people who are known around here, META usually is night one scum pick off a vet (relatively often), or someone who they view as a larger threat in the long run. Who does this info benefit most? Everyone! From investigatives, scum, protectives. My point is that it shouldn't effect his decisions about his night actions (if he has any). Therefor its also not extremely useful to anyone. So, meh, I wanted to let the new guy know that one way or the other its practically pointless for information relevant to this game. Also I'd place Caffiene in the fairly Newb, hes played maybe 2/3 games on this forum that I can remember.

Opinions on what? Nothing exactly has happened. Mafia is a slow moving game, the scuminess will soon out themselves.

FOS yourself though for being impatient, mafia are typically more impatient than town during the day as they want to get on with the killing at night

one could say that looks pretty scummy.

also FOS all you want on me for driving the game forward, if that turns into discussion im fine with that

But discussion is good *Thumbs up*

I'd probably be classed in the newb section, although I've probably played more mafia games than anyone here. Unless anyone else is a vet on EM? I won't spell out the abbreviation for the sake of advertising.

Regarding virus, he is keeping up to date by reading the thread but not posting for legitimate reasons that I won't discuss; real life stuff.

I don't like how X-Stor-X is basically fishing for vets.

well for me not being around i would like to confirm what iamcaffeine said 2 posts above, Real life had a good swing at me so im bit inactive lately, trying to keep up but its hard. Thats why i read the day 1 jokevotes but did not contribute since in my opinion my jokevote was not nescesary for now, and not much in a joking spirit. So i read up today and will contribute to some of the questions asked and discussions going:

Have i seen the show?
Yes i have, episode 1 until the last one, basicly loved every minute of it (well some episodes where not that good, but you get the idea)

Did i play maffia before
Well i think im around in this forum since like, oktober? last year ? think i joined all games so im getting familiar with it and the players around, i atleast have started to develop a feeling with the players around.

some of my observations:
i like x-stor-x being around, had some doubtfull posts but think he is just general enthousiastic and much around, bit like anarkist as anarkist already said, and as anarkists sig says, i like that kind of playstyle, tend to have a bit of that myself aswell if i have more time at hand and less worries.
and why not share: so far my read on mob daily is town. based on gut feeling but hey why not share while im typing, ive been not posting so far so you guys deseve some intel to make up your minds or hang me now or later.

ok cutting a bit of slack to virus.

virus; can you please quote something from mob that made your opinion about him go one way rather than theother?

I will unvote vote flores; for the same reason as before, just hunting the unparticipative ones.

oh and neb: jonty is a big time vet, I don't know if any of you has ever been in a game without him.. i think he has always registered for every single game available in the past 2-3 years

that just made sense to me, not more then that, i try to look for patterns in posts but its hard day 1, most of the time only starts working at day 3. I work with a + / - + being towny and - being scummy, system based on posts and my interpretation / gutfeeling of them, when there are lots of - i try to look if there is a strong pattern, or something that adds up with my feeling. but since the game just started its not working yet, and so my interpretation is not worth much yet
actually the quote makes less sense to me now because i now noticed he voted me for being inactive basicly so it is kind of contradicting.

Potentially getting good targets for a night action, which could be good or bad. Plus it gives more info to other less experienced players which can be good or bad for the same reason. I don't have a FoS by the way. You've read too much into what I'm doing.

I'm also wondering if all roles will be PRs or some will just be named characters without any powers. I expect the latter but there's always the possibility. I've only played with Fircoal as the host so I've learnt to expect anything.

As Nark said, no. At least not to my recollection (which is fairly recent).

Jesse was a bit of an artist though, so maybe you're thinking of that.

He could also click through the archives section if he wanted to and just see what names appear frequently. It's readily available information, the same way flavor information is.

I expect people to start forming opinions. Start pushing on people they think are scum. Also as you can tell, i want discussion. If people don't like my line of questioning that's fine, then they need to provoke something else in the air instead of stonewalling and killing conversation.

I'll probably be getting around today with some harder opinions.

I have been lumped into the "Fairly Newb to Very Newb" category and I agree. I have only played a few mafia games on CC, but I have played several more on another site. However, I am not very experienced...blah blah blah...

I am a HUGE fan of Breaking Bad. If I had to choose I would select it as my favorite TV series.
As far as characters that I think are a MUST for this Mafia include:

1. Walt
2. Jesse
3. Hank
4. Gus
5. Mike
6. Saul

However, just because Walt is the main character and since I know how the series evolves, I do not believe he necessarily is "Town" ....perhaps he needs a solo win or something similar.

Jesse, maybe a village idiot type of role.

Hank, cop. no doubt about it.

Gus, Mafia

Mike - I would think a Strongman/ninja type of role.

Saul - Walt and Jesse's lawyer...

Those are 6 roles that I believe are for sure here somewhere.

Other roles from the series that could be involved:
Badger and Skinny Pete (Both allied with Jesse and maybe by extension Walt)
We have Gus's crew and The Mexican cartel crew. I would bet at least 2 mafias in this game.

---

As far as the posting right now. D1 is always strange and no one really knows where to lean. I am OK with lynching a non-active, but I think the game is still too early to see who will be "inactive"

I also do not like attacking someone just because they are a Vet or a noob.

So post starts off with excuses, thats fine shit happens, can't say i liked that another person pointed it out and then virus you confirmed it. Mafia slip? doubtful. Moves on with answering some questions, but i'm just not getting anything from those questions. bleh

So now the good part, his reads. His first read is on myself, so from my opinion, it is pretty crappy of a read. The read itself is boarder line opinion (parts of it mimic others thought about "questionable posts from myself), and the only thing he seems to like me for is my "enthusiastic" approach to the game. Secondly, he likes the playstyle of myself and anarkist. Something anarkist all ready pointed out. So i conclude this read does not feel original, it does not feel like it adds anything new to this game.

Now we get to his last read, town read on a gut feeling. I can't get anything from this, which was all ready pointed out (regarding to the context)
So virus if you can explain more that would be great.
The line is what really bothers me

"and why not share" .... " but hey why not share while im typing, ive been not posting so far so you guys deseve some intel to make up your minds or hang me now or later"

This just feels weird. if you are town, why do you care in this manner? Just feels like a scummy mindset to say "hang me now or latter"

So for now, i think i have virus as one of my scummiest people.
