i'll think about the gameplay first and see what xml features are available for use, then i'll start on the image. :D

XMLs that look off to me...

-rochas (move right)
-puerto tranquillo (move right)
-gringo (move up)
-shicato (left)
-churacas (move down)
-zio (move right)
-falta (move right)
-capo longo (move down)
-gurias (down)

i have the same problem with the xml in this one that i had with the middle east, i just kept my mouth shut on that one.

nothing is properly centered. of course without shadows you cant really center anything...It bothers my eye to look at, as everything looks kinda random and just thrown on.

im probably the only one...

I agree it's tricky without shadows to have centred stuff... but as long as you can see which armies tie to which territory then I don't see it matters...

But DiM can toy with the Co-Ords for you... if you please?

i agree with yeti_c. since i don't have shadows and the armies are clear on which terit they belong then there's trully no centering needed. but since i'm a good guy and i had nothing to do here is the new xml:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/riceq8

and the results.

The narrative for the Small version is really too small for me to read... I have to move so close to the computer screen just to squint and make out the small font words. Can that be improved?

The Legend on the bottom - or the story on the right?

I kindof agree... but am not sure about how it can be changed?!

you're talking about the story right?
i've increased the font a little but that's as much as i can. but it is not important for the gameplay it is just for fun.

you really like popping in from time to time without reading the thread and making various negative comments.

last time you said there's no place for army numbers without checking back to see i had already posted a map with numbers.

now you come and say the legend is confusing without checking back to see it has been extensively modified until people agreed it is clear.

next time please read the thread before posting and if you have a feedback you'd like to add please post something coherent.
the legend is confusing in what way? what part confuses you? how can it be improved? why do you have to play it 5 times before you'll understand it? just read it twice the first time

Legend seems fine to me. I just needed to refer back to the map a lot thats all.

The story still looks kinda unreadable :S but I cant think of a way to solve it, so I guess leave it for now. Unless there is a way it can be abrieved?

Just my 2 cents: only the story is not readable on small map, so don't bother, switch to large to read it once, then switch back to small and forget about it

it can be abbreviated but there will be some lost feeling.

but as i said the story is not important. you'll read it once or twice and then forget about it. i just put it there cause it is nice and it gets you in the mood. on my monitor from home and on the one from work it is clearly visible even in the small version. for those with really small monitors (14 or 15 inches) they can get close to the monitor or just switch to the large version and read it.
