Yeah, people are wondering if the author even knows where he is going with the books, let alone the TV series. Been like 5 years since the last book came out.

According to interviews, he does know where he's going on the long run, but he doesn't know what's going to happen in between. He's a self-named gardener writer. He jsut makes up things on the spot for everything in between.

And that is what is frustrating a lot of people. Not even an outline.

Now, if only Robert Jordan's widow can win the court case against Red Eagle for media rights for the Wheel of Time Series, and that may get a TV series. And it's already finished as a book series.

Ok this sad season is finally over. The last episode was all right I guess, except for the stupid shit.

In Dorne (ugh, what a clusterfuck of a mess that whole story line has been), Myrcella is poisoned and is probably dead. Ellaria poisons her. Just before Ellaria poisons the young princess, she gets the nod from Doran subtly implying that Doran knew about the poisoning. Maybe he didn't, but if he did then its a really stupid plan. Not that poisoning Myrcella isn't too stupid, but poisoning Myrcella while Jamie Lannister has young Trystane as a hostage. Trystane is as good as dead. Maybe Ellaria did the deed on her own without Doran knowing about it, but that just means she just committed suicide as well as the rest of the Sand Snakes. Which isn't so bad IMO, because at this point, just kill them all off. It'll be a shame not to see those outstanding tits again but that's a sacrifice I can live with if I don't have to endure any more scenes with those stupid bitches. I just had to piss and moan about the Dorne story line, it's ruined the season.
Maybe next season when Dorne and the House Lannister are at war, all those shitty Sand Snake actresses will be killed off one by one (or all at once! I'm not picky)
I imagine a scene next season when Bronn and Tits meet on the battlefield of something another and he's about to kill her and she'll be like "But what about these?!" and flash her tits and Bronn puts his longsword right between them. "Sorry sister, I've seen better" he'd say. He'd be lying of course, but he wouldn't be able to forget about how the bitch almost poisoned him to death.

Now, on to some more pleasant conversation. Who here thinks Stannis is dead?
Well, he ain't, not yet at least. If he was dead they wouldn't have cut away from the killing blow.
Now, if he is dead, then everything he did was for nothing, his daughter burnt at the stake, his wife now a Christmas ornament, his army deserted and left dead on the field of battle, and this is supposedly Stannins, one of the greatest military minds in Westeros? Naw, I don't think so.
My prediction for next season, we'll learn that Stannis is not only alive and well, but his supposedly deserted army didn't desert, he sent them somewhere.
And Brienne, what an idiot. She had one job, watch the window and she fucked that up. She should really stop taking oaths because she can't complete any of them.

Now Lena Headey, she's a great actress. She pulled off that scene the walk of shame perfectly. And we get the first glimpse of Frankenstein, err, I mean Sir Strong. Nice! Gee, I wonder who is going to be the one to eventually put that monster down....

Is it bad of me that I laughed like a loon when Myranda got tossed off the top of the wall and went splat? Good on you Reek!

And then there is poor Jon Snow doing his best Julius Caesar impression. I'd almost feel bad for Jon if 1. I thought he was actually gonna stay dead, and 2. If he wasn't so stupid.
I mean, sure a lot of the Watch are pissed at him for making peace with the Wildlings, but sheesh, just tell everyone what you saw at Heartholme. Even the haters gotta face the facts. Jon even has other sworn brothers who saw it all as well. Alliser isn't that stupid. But whatever, hopefully there is someone there at Castle Black who knows how to raise the dead ala Beric Dondarrion style, but that would require a Red Priest (or Priestess).

Oh, and for book readers, do any of you think this last episode may have spoiled some events of the upcoming book at all?

I know enough about the books that season 5 split from them (like it's Sansa at Winterfel instead of Jeyne Poole for example), but really the only thing book readers know, is that Jon Snow isn't going to stay dead. As the 6th book has yet to be released/published. Though according to Martin, it should be out before season 6 rolls out.

The battle of Winterfell was an utter joke. The best military commander in Westeros should expect a cavalry charge. He would've also sent out scouts ahead to keep an eye on all movement. Personally, I think patches might be right about Brienne not finishing him off, however that doesn't make this any less of a cheap way to get rid of Stannis' army.

Oh, and for book readers, do any of you think this last episode may have spoiled some events of the upcoming book at all?

Not really. I'm torn here between believing the same will happen in the books and assuming the show differs enough from the books for it not to happen. It's like reading a bad omen and afterwards hoping the omen won't come true.

PS: Here's an idea. What if after killing John, the horns sound three times?

The whole story of him tossing away his better judgment and losing all of the people close to him is a great classic tragedy. The reason to keep Stannis alive isn't because he somehow deserved to win (he didn't) but because SOMEONE needs to kill Ramsay.

So, the best way for a guy to redeem himself who had his brother assassinated, suffered a horrendous defeat at Blackwater that cost probably tens of thousands of men, enlisted a cultist who seems to barely understand what she is talking about, and in the show, sacrificed his own daughter to be king, is to somehow kill a psychopath whose heir is completely unbalanced, betrayed the Starks (and in doing so, lost the trust of many Northern lords), flays people (despite it being outlawed), and is as clever as Twin Lannister was, but considerably more sadistic? I think there are better options to rid Westeros of the Boltons.

I thought the Arya sequence this episode was good. You wouldn't believe how hard it was for me to keep quiet about Jon Snow's stabbing death all season to my friend who hasn't read the books and kept talking about how he hoped Jon Snow would jsut get to killing all the white walkers already. Episode 8 was such a high point for him.

The casting call for Season six of Game of Thrones was also released.

Some people being asked for (character names are not named) is a crazy ass pirate (possibly Euron); a father, mother, sister and brother of an established central character where the father is described as a great warrior of Westeros and is humorless and intimidating sounds like the family of good ole Sam Tarly; and most surprising (for show watchers, not book readers so much) is for a character who is described as a priest who was once a warrior who has found religion and ministers to the poor folk around the countryside. The last sounds a lot like Septon Maribald which would be awesome.

There is also a number of casting calls for characters obviously set in Essos, like Kahl Jhaqo and such.

Then there is the inexplicable casting call for three young boys between the ages of 7-12. Possibly related to a flashback scene its thought, but no one really knows. Its been a while since I read the books so I'm drawing a blank of this last one. Maybe they'll be playing Children of the Forest? I dunno.

Why would someone that wants to kill John Snow let him threw the wall in the first place... and murder him soon after that.

With what logic you murder the most capable commander that has first hand experience with the imminent threat that is arriving? And he is also guessing what the imminent threat will do quite accurately.

One last thing... Since now the Wall doesn't have appropriate commander I expect it to fall very soon, and all those that actually participated in killing of John Snow to be dead. for the dumb creatures that condem them selves to death. Any other outcome as Wall is successfully defended renders the series to rubbish, unless something new is introduced.

Also unlike Barriston or other deaths this season that were meaningless or Myrcella's death which was stupid (I would be really disappointed if Doran was in on it. Hes smarter than that ), Jons death does serve a purpose. The Wall was on the verge of a historic treaty with the wildlings. With them and possibly some dragons they had a real chance to defeat the White Walkers but only if Jon was there to keep the peace. With him out of the way, that peace will now fall apart and the Walkers may come to take the wall only to find that the expected resistance killed themselves off while the few survivors scattered.

Now I do expect Jon to be revived. I think that is the point of Melisandre being at the Wall. She had a vision of Jon as the Lord of Light's true chosen one or something and Stannis was revealed to be merely his means for her to find Jon. But I dont think it will be immediate. I think you are going to see The Wall tear itself half apart before they can actually bring Jon back.

It is kind of hard to figure out how you kill Dany or Jon as they are pretty much the eyes in which we see large areas of the world. Certainly most people would say Tyrion as a protagonist as well, but he probably isn't as needed for the narrative as either of those two.

Personal opinion on it about Tywin really. And Ramsay and Joffrey, yeah. I wanted those two dead shortly after they were first introduced.

Trying to think of a redeeming quality for Joffrey, but nothing really comes to mind. Ramsay, although evil, demented, and pretty damn crazy, could at least make a decent plan. Even if it was to suit his own sadism. Joffery was stupid, cowardly, prone to anger, abusive, willingly ignorant, and, as Tyrion said "a little shit".
