Suppose I'm a little frustrated. There's not much else I can do than ask questions. I still think a lynch today is much more likely to hurt than help so I'm trying to see if I can get people to question it.

Thats the point of it all. While there can be the advocate for a no lynch, doing nothing during the day will gain absolutely nothing. The only way you can gain information in this game is by pressuring people, reading their responses and in some cases pushing for a claim to gain as much info as possible. Its all part of the process and you can return the pressure and try to clear yourself which you are working at.

Fircoal being the first vote on me felt like a safe position for scum to take without being seen as bandwagoning. And dj's vote just felt like bandwagon for the sake of bandwagon.
I'm at L-3 (L-2 since kwan'll probably fix his vote next time he gets on) so I'm a giraffe. I am a vanilla townie and I am simply part of the herd. If I do get lynched, I'd say mitch's softclaim of vanilla townie is slightly more legitimized.

I don't think anything about my play has been a safe position. I'm not sure how trying to defend someone who was in danger of getting bandwagoned is seen as safe. Nor is putting down the first vote. I think you need to relook up what the word safe means.

I don't believe the "giraffes" are in the game and they're not named. There are plenty of characters in the the Lion King so while you could be a vanilla townie, I still think you'd have a name. Either you didn't fully claim or you don't know who to claim which makes me....

Well, let's think about this:

Disregarding Scar and the 3 hyenas (presuming that is how the scum team is made up, I can't imagine any other reasonable way to do it) there should be:

Simba
Nala
Mufasa
Rafiki
Timon
Pumba
Mr Bean Bird

as almost dead certain inclusions for roles. That's only half of the 12 remaining roles, so it's possible there's room left over for a vanilla role or two.
I was suspicious at first but the more I think about it, the less I am.

MM you missed Zazu (or is that a Bean bird?), Sarabi, Sarafina and the Mole. With Scar and 3 hyenas (which are all named as we saw from Ragian) - Shenzi, Ed & Banzai, with your 7 + Scar = 15 named roles out of 16 players. I doubt there would be just a giraffe. It has a name probably which he didn't say.

You are not seing that I have predicted he would 'claim' an unamed role before he did, because a member of Mafia can hardly claim a main character.

Finally, in a game with this few players that are really playing, a week to get two more votes is not that long. Since chances are that some at least one of the more reliable players is in the Mafia, my hurry is result based on wanting to nail another scum on Day 1 in order to have as much cushin as possible for when we go to hunt the two remaining scumsters.

Especially since our odds of lynching a scum member keep decreasing.

Since I don't think mitch would be defending this much if they were both scum, I'm inclined to believe them. I'm starting to wonder if Kwan has the same role that he has been softclaiming by plying the way he has... but my vote stays on him for now

If the assumption is correct that there are (were) 3 hyenas and Scar as scum, then all inclined to believe them could be scum as well, so with 3 scum alive try not to be manipulated. I say we lynch the claimed giraffe and find out if it really doesn't have a name, if it has then mitch and hotshot are next in line. If it really doesn't it will clear mitch and possibly those who "believed" Samlen's claim.
