@Kwanton Two things:
1. The simplest way to make sure that you are typing in red is to choose bottom left color.
2. The reason why I clued you guys into being visited by a Crier are threefold: I think that it's info that doesn't help scum so why not share it with Town; I don't fully understand what a Crier does so someone else might have better use for this info then I (especially since I haven't really contributed much so far); and finally if I start posting invitations for you guys to ravish me like a freshly rescued maiden I want to provide some context for why I'm posting that. 8-[

As for Crier mechanic, I have never been in a game with one before so I have no idea how he is supposed to work. I checked it in Epic Mafia Wiki and am still unsure what's the point of it but meh! :)

What happend to me is that I have recieved a message detailing how I had a nice diner with a Crier. It all sounded very sensual, so I'm betting that the Crier is someone who is into goatees and bondage.

I thought to ask Skoffin who she investigated, but I realized that we still don't know that Oracle is truthful sooo it would be dumb of me to ask a possible power role to reveal herself so I'm not going to do that.

What to write? What to write? :-k

@Aage, has the pro-Town Hero found any scums yet? :)

I don't know, you should ask the pro-town hero.

About the crier... I was initially tempted to believe it was a rolecop who got their results announced publicly rather than by pm, since I have toyed around with the idea of a role like that for ages, but they're a little too loose-lipped for that. Besides, what would the spirits even know about this game? Sincerely sounds like a scam. I don't think we should actively try to get confirmations on its statements, and instead let them muck about a little more until we can reliably fact check their claims.

There actually is, if you care enough to find it. The no lynch votes were dirtydishsoap, Samlen, Skoffin and thorthoth, and I would at least have expected Skoffin to know you should always lynch. You and TWO had fairly pointless votes, fair enough it's day 1 but asking the people who voted Dakky to show remorse is a very, very high horse. Secondly, no useful discussion on day 1 is par for the course. I'm not sure what exactly you expected to happen there. Should be just have no lynched and actually have nothing to go on today? How is that better? FoS for that bullshit.
We also know that there is a secret voter, since they were foolish enough to reveal themselves day one, which is extremely useful information.

Skoffin wrote:It would have been very easy for scum to have jumped on that wagon and I think that is the best place to start. So far I think Skittles and mandy had the most valid reasons for voting him so I won't consider them for potential lynch at the moment from those on the dakky wagon.
I actually view it the other way around - several people were calling out BOMB!!! and scum doesn't really gain anything by lynching a VT in a power role game. Very high risk, very low reward. I expect the majority of scum stayed away from that wagon.

Kwanton wrote:Lack of kill and flavor of the scene probably means the doc chose his target well. We also probably shouldn't speculate any further on this.
The flavour indicated a game-wide anti-kill shield to me. Not sure why someone would use that night 1, though.

Since people don't really seem very interested in discussing either of these things, though, I'll throw a bone. Did anyone else receive a fairly sketchy offer last night?

I did not. Seems unlikely that the Oracle would get information again already in a game that attempts a balanced set up. Perhaps DDS is correct. If so, my theory on who it is falls apart.

Perhaps the all save is multi-use but comes with another drawback?

The only crier role I remember is the one I came up with that can let people know information about a killed target if they visited them that night but from the description you gave doesn't sound like the same role.

I would never forget the color. Obviously a mod, perhaps the infamous TFO I hear so much about, is responsible for editing my post.

I was not offered any objects.

Well no aage if it came down to it lynching dakky and closing down that avenue of confusion and disarray is better than no lynch. I just think the day quickly became dakky-centered and we could have probably lynched someone a) scummier or b) would have generated much more info to analyze if the day had dragged on a little longer, and we had a chance to discuss others.

I was not offered anything.

A potential scum catch on D2 would be pretty useful. I don't think we can easily discard the possibility of testing out the oracle by pushing on pikanchion. I find it a little unlikely that any scum-sided role got a power like this, plus pikanchion has posted only once so far in D2 and it wasn't of substance, so I don't think we're losing much.

I pretty much agree with this. Especially with people NOT voting Dakky, scum would honestly use that to their apparent advantage with "Hey, I didn't vote the VT, so obvs I'm not scum". Even tho everyone knows VT is actually the best possible vote for town OTHER than scum and third party.

I didn't receive any offer last night, daddy.

The day became Dakky centred because he decided to be a big shot and out himself as VT. That's such an incredibly dumb move cause, hello, people aren't gonna believe that. If he was a Jester, big woop, he wins, he doesn't play the game. If he's a bomb, that would've been bad, but lucky for town he wasn't. For Day 1, he was the scummiest, and no I'm not going to show remorse for voting for a VT, especially when I know Dakky knows how to play better and this time his stupid play didn't pay off for him.

Also, to be fair, I did say we should all vote Mitch on Day 1.

Id be most inclined to believe that the Skoffin one is the nonsense or lying one but that's mostly hunch, so which are the other two? Might worth pursuing Pika just to try to verify it.

What would that tell us though? How would we know which is which? do we assume that they say things in order? truth, anything, lie, truth, anything, lie, etc? We can't be sure.

This feels like a distraction. It'd take too much effort and too many tests to get any reliable results from this spirit business.

Unless I'm missing the point.

So aage & Samlen (others?) were given a present last night? What was it?

So does 'just says anything' mean a mixture of lies and truth, or is it just all irrelevant nonsense?[/color]
Anyway, if the spirits aren't even identified by name or number when they prophecy we'll neve rbe able to tease them apart.

Never mind the red text, it's the red herrings that will really drive you craz yin this game.

So spirit-wise we got one claiming skoffin is investigative role, one saying pika is hostile, and one claiming mandy is town. One true, one lie, and one nonsensical. Is it worth asking skoffin to deny/confirm if their role is investigative, cause if it's true then either pika is friendly or mandy is scum and if it's false then pika is hostile or mandy is town. We really can't say much about dakky's lynch and given the circumstances our current best option is to follow the spirits or let someone with important information claim(bad idea considering how early it is unless guaranteed scum catch) can narrow today's lynch to a 50/50 chance to hit scum and/or get a confirmed townie. Then again, skoffin confirming/denying that could be information we don't want scum to have right now, especially if skoffin confirms.

This occurred to me mid-post but does anyone think the spirits could just be a crier messing around and doesn't actually know anything? I was thinking it was a sort of dreamer rolehttps://epicmafia.com/role/1208 but they were just talking a bit on day 1.

@aage I'm more curious about the who, especially since I was fast but still too slow.

Ninja'd by Thor. We are obviously not elaborating because a) we don't know or b) it's sensitive information that could hurt town if scum knows. I sorta want to see how many others are willing to admit they were approached like this before sharing what it is.

Exactly. If these 'three spirits' are all stemming from one source and are not even clearly identified as being separate, then they are still just a single spirit from a game play perspective.

I never received anything ,but then I was out of town. Like Sam's ideal or maybe Skoffin could investigate Mandy or PIKA or this is a false hood, IF we are not sure in what is going on maybe a no vote might be the way to go and then see if they is any other investigators out there to check on them three,
