A positive CC thread

Postby KoolBak on Thu Jul 05, 2018 12:02 pm

So over the 12 years I've steadily played here (95% with my xi brothers and sisters), I have made a lot of friends. Probly 4 that I consider lifelong real life friends that I will probly never actually meet :( One I had plans to meet and then he was tragically killed.....still breaks my heart.....for what it's worth, we made stickers to represent his memory and sold em for his widow....have one on my truck so I can think of him every day. Can't believe it's been 6 years.

Have met probly 6 in real life, 2 of which have become close lifelong friends.

Am going to meet another xi brother today for lunch for the first time as he's up from Cali and in my town :D

Anyway....if nothing else.....this is a very good thing.

Now who's gonna f*ck it up? Burny? Money's on you

Really? You really are a piece of shit. Newly married young guy with a 6 month old daughter. We'd been close friends for 6 years via CC, phone, email. Little girl will grow up never knowing her awesome dad. New young bride lost her husband and primary income. Fucking tragedy. And you have the unmitigated gall to post. My mom just died of dementia....oh, and my 35 year old brother in law died from ALS....got anything funny to say about those? I can give you more fodder to dig your hole deeper.

Feel better?

Every time you post, you break the guidelines for this site. I hope this one gets you banned forever.

Despite this post, Jesus loves you unconditionally. Perhaps you haven't experienced unconditional love, which is why you react this way.

He is one of the many reasons I decided to resign from CC team because nobody, including the site owner, had the balls to manage this type of member, Bernie is only a name here, but his attitude is hurting the site to a scale that no one want to see. Instead they are thinking of how to accommodate this handful of idiots rather than getting rid of.

Many Forum outside of CC would have banned this type of behavior at the first instance...i guess this will never change until those who are in charge are taking the bull by the horns and kick member like Bernie out for real. I told him before, in a different thread, he is only feeling good hiding behind a screen.

I agree, its unfortunate people like Bernie and those who choose to protect people like him are allowed to ruin a great site / community.

I'm not sure why you think this is a bannable offense. Was it a low move? Yes. Was he trolling after being called out? Most likely.

However, someone being a low life is not a reason for banning. This isn't a UN Human Rights tribunal, it's a war gaming site of which he is a paying member.

Specifically, what is wrong with FAMO in this case? Like, if it were game chat and this a C&A case, what proof could you provide that this is a different form of abuse?

Same questions to IcePack.

Sure, since you asked I'll take a stab at it.

If this were an isolated incident, or even just a player A vs player B scenario in which they hated each others guts and went crazy I'd agree with you FAMO. You're right, you can point to a SINGLE instance and say "whats bannable?".

But there are a number of people whose sole purpose (or near sole purpose) to be here is to troll, hate, spew garbage, and post shit like this to other members of the site. Simple FAMO in this case keeps one user from seeing their vile trash, but does nothing for the overall health and community on the site besides feed / breed negativity and grossness.

This is FAR from an isolated single incident from this user.

If you can't see that these sorts of cancers in the community aren't having a negative impact in the forums and with other customers, then that proves the point that many are blind to part of the problem here.

This used to be the first part of the Community Guidelines:
Don't be intentionally annoying!

Common sense prevails - if you are intentionally or continually making this community less enjoyable for others, you're going to be removed from it. It's that simple.

If you understand this one prevailing rule you can probably stop reading now, or just give everything a glance-over. If you're not sure what 'common sense prevails' means, read on for the boring details. If you don't agree with this, sayonara.

This still is the first part of the New Community Guidelines:
Common sense prevails - if you are intentionally or continually making this community less enjoyable for others, you may be removed from it. It's that simple. This applies to any part of the site where interaction takes place; in Forums, Private Messages, Live Chat and Game Chat

Community Guidelines

1. Do NOT be intentionally destructive - If you do anything that harms or can be perceived to harm this site you may be removed from it.

Yet its constantly ignored. You dont think Bernie has made the Community less enjoyable for many others? How about being "intentionally destructive"? I'm pretty sure Koolbak thinks this Community is less enjoyable with Bernie in it, and there will be many others who agree (and no, this isn't specifically directed to Bernie, though he is part of the problem he is not the only one who this applies too).

Now who's gonna f*ck it up? Burny? Money's on you

This turns it from a positive CC thread into nothing more than a bait thread.

If that line wasn't there, then it may have been acted on.

The fact it is indicates that it was posted for no other reason than to bait.

I deplore you are highlighting the « baiting » aspect from KoolBak post, I would rather see this as an emotional response from a vile user who’s only intentions are to hurt others, I deplore you are going one more time to a side where you shouldn’t, in fact you are perhaps the best to understand KoolBak response since you have been under this kind of nastiness when Thornthot had same kind of behavior against you, so what happened to him? Permanently banned for such and many other offense about his behavior throughout the Forum.

Whatever, call it the way you like...the way Bernie is acting in many area in those Forum is nothing else but to hurt others.

It is just sad you don’t see it and stay hiding behind principle that will prevent you to take appropriate action. If you are still convinced he is not a cancer for the community then you are totally blind.
