Game 18316612, which mistakenly had no round limit (war thread did mention round limits) and this is still going on, over 3 months after it started. Now in this case it's not really important since the war is officially won, but such scenarios would be really annoying in the last couple of rounds of CL.
If I remember correctly we had this discussion in the past. At that time a majority of people did not deem a round limit necessary. And some people argued that it would potentially change the game play.
We can certainly bring this up again for the next version of CL.

Yes, it would potentially change game play, but does that make it bad? Change any setting on a game and it changes the game play dynamic. That does not make it wrong.
In most cases, trench games are decided quite fast. There are only handful of games that takes ages to finish. I think a round limit should be optional, and we should trust clan leaders to put a round limit when necessary.
Maybe a pm asking clans leaders to think about putting round limit on games that may take too long to finish.
I don't think a round limit should be mandatory. ( at least definitely NOT a 20 round limit).
