Re: Possibly Code Conflict

Say there are 6 players. Each player cannot *possibly* have 5 cards each because the current card system (I think) excludes the same country card from being in the hands of 2 players simultaneously. 5x6=30 cards, and there are far less than 30 countries on the map. This would invariably produce some kind of error in the code.

Actually thwo people could have the same card.

You could hand in a card in a set and then get the card back, even though it might be a different colour.

There is no "deck".

Exactly - why drag it out any longer. I'm dreading some n00b coming in and complaining about the names (again)

Actually, I'm looking to test the 2-army minimum versus 3 armies on this map -- it may help mitigate some of the advantage of going first (Unfortunately, I'm faced with a dearth of local Risk players who are willing to experiment AND have a lot of time on their hands, so if anyone else feels like testing this with their friends also and telling me what they think, that would be most appreciated (there won't be a poll for this since not everyone who votes would have tested the map to themselves both ways and as such their opinion doesn't matter as much to me (not that it doesn't matter at all; if, say, you have a particularly persuasive argument, I would be happy to read it))).

Can we have images and links for the large and small versions of the map, plus XML?

All right, so, not an update at all, but I'm still looking to test 3-army minimum versus a 2-army minimum for this map.

Then again, it might not be such a big deal in which case the usual minimum of 3 would be preferable.

Anyway, images and links:

These files will have to be renamed, of course...

Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."

Regarding putting something behind the coordinates, maybe some sort of crayon scribble (lightlt colored) could work as an army shadow of sorts, and still go with the theme of the map. (Similar to Siege using shields, etc)

Yes, that was a very good example of constructive criticism

Just wondering, don't CCers diss on landgrab for the fact that they think they're maps look like they were drawn by 7 year olds with crayons?

Well if you're not sure - that means it looks very good... because it's meant to look like it was hand drawn.

I don't like the way Europe and Egypt's shadow overlap the borders...

Can you tweak?

Europe's could go into the spain/portugal bit...
Egypts could go a bit lower.

I like the overlap. I couldn't color inside the lines then. Maybe Greenland could use a little overlap as well.
