The countries will be named by note. (example: "Green D" or "Red B")

woah! your making it too confusing. if there are people out there that have never played piano and cant name the keys, how will they know what a chord is?Coleman wrote:You could get bonuses for cords and make it so all the notes of the same pitch can attack each other to open it up. Like all the C's can attack each other and all the B flats and so forth.

wcaclimbing wrote:For the people out there that have never played Piano before, how will you explain to them which note name goes with which key? Because if i was supposed to find the D key in the green section and i had never seen a piano before, it would basically be a wild guess as to which key matches each name.

EDIT: I just read more and your current concept isn't a large enough piano for that and you took out the black keys. So nevermind.
OnlyAmbrose wrote:Where's the strategy? Seems to me that since it's all just one line it would make the game nearly all luck.

I meant literally. It's a straight line. No room for strategy at all. Just attack left and right. A cool concept, but it's not playable as is. I agree with the earlier suggestions: maybe make it an organ with multiple rows.

That just gave me a cool idea. Maybe make the seat and pedals conquerable as well. And maybe when you hold a certain pedal cool things happen. I'm not sure what, but maybe if you owned the sustain pedal it would...sustain your army? I really haven't thought it through.

Just have some arrows connecting keys like so:
- Code: Select all
F G A B M D E F G A B C D
^ C 2 ^
| ^ ^ |
------------|------------ |
| |
-------------------------
Or some other more brilliant idea to allow more then just neighbor attacks.

That would be cool. Would it just be random key-hopping, or would you be doing something like running up and down the arms of a piano player to reach that key? (That would be weird, yet cool).
@ Solus: I know you just said that. I was clarifying what I had said earlier.

here's what i think you should do. on the paper with the bonuses write musical notes from a famos song. then group those notes into continents. each group of keys can have drawn connectios on that paper.
this way you have more diverse continents and connections between them without resorting to random connectors unrealistically places on the map.
