The drawing was just to give a visual of what I was aiming for, it definitely needs a lot of work. Or even better, I could shift the focus to the lake itself, so have lots of boats and little islands...hmmmm...Solus wrote:I like it but you should probably involve the lake in some way. (have like a swamp monster coming out of there lol)
I suppose I could try...Solus wrote:Also I'm no artist either but if you slowly work on it piece by piece it should end up fine... try not to do it freehand and you'll be fine.
Those are all fantastic ideas, like it could be split into different age groups and such.Kaplowitz wrote:Right now, it just looks like a field. Maybe add some more camp things, like archery, or color war (maybe make the whole thing a team's map of the camp for color war!), or climbing wall. There are a lot of things that can make the game interesting, i think this could turn out pretty good.

Hahah, yes, that just proves my point, this is using the GIMP, as it's one of the few good art programs that works in linux. The second image was made using a couple of layers actually, as I was concerned I would mess it up even more. I really don't want to make anymore example images, as they are embarrassingly bad.Kaplowitz wrote:You shouldnt make the mpa in paint, you should download a free program. You should make it on its side, and bigger. I cant really tell which is a territory and which isnt. Im sure graphics will get better as the development continues, so im not worried about that. It will be a lot easier is you dont use paint (some others are here: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1410)!
I'm not really sure the of the total process. As I do not have my own site but what I do have is connections. Really I just need to figure out how to get the blueprint from my files to here. If you could explain the process better I could have it up as soon as tonight.Kaplowitz wrote:Code: Select all

Either way, I never really wanted to make the map image itself, as I don't have the time/patience for art. This was made as an example of a project I'd like to work on that I could do the XML for, as that seems to always be a large complaint. If an artist doesn't come along/nobody is interested; I'd gladly do the XML on any project that needs it.Kaplowitz wrote:If you are using GIMP, then u can still use straight lines and real circles and stuff, rather than freehand.
Thanks that helped... well heres the blueprint.Kaplowitz wrote:upload it onto http://www.imageshack.us
I thought about it but I just don't see how I could implement it into the map successfully. Any input would be great.Kaplowitz wrote:Looks like a good start, maybe add somthing about snipers or vehicles to make the gameplay interesting.
