Well they are popular. I was talking with the guy at Bass Pro Shops about them because I noticed the empty spot with their label in the display case. At $299 Canadian, they sold out. He described them by saying, "They sure are a nice piece of glass."

Could be perfect for a stroll around Taloyoak.

I have been avoiding those grand Big Macs pretty successfully this season, despite the advertisements seemingly everywhere I look. Busters Pizza has been replaced by some similar chain out of Saskatchewan. Maybe I'm partially to blame, we never went back.

I bought a pair of binoculars years ago (to see Halley's comet..??..) and I use that occasionally to see stars and planets. I know I saw the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction in December 2020 (near Christmas, as I recall). What looked like one big bright star(with the naked eye) clearly showed as two planets with the binoculars, one faint (Saturn) and one brighter (Jupiter, which is closer).

That was a good investment.

I found two relevant posts [2020]; in the Astronomy! thread, of course:

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18

■ Jupiter and Saturn are drawing the world's attention as they creep strikingly closer together in the southwest at nightfall. This evening Saturn is only 0.3° above Jupiter, as shown below in twilight. That's hardly the width of a chopstick at arm's length. They're closing toward a mere 0.1° apart on December 21st, toothpick width! After that they widen again.

At last, the record-breaking Jupiter-Saturn conjunction is this evening! If you have a telescope, get it on the pair of planets as early in twilight as you can find them, while they're still relatively high. See Jupiter and Saturn Embrace in Solstice Conjunction. (It's just a coincidence that this is happening on the day of the solstice.) And for more background, The 400-Year Rhythm of Great Conjunctions.

God you’re ‘jokes’ are so boring.

I’m surprised it took so long for you to do this.

You do realize why I admitted I was wrong was because you agreed with me.
So now you’re saying you’re wrong too? That then makes me right!

Spoken with ALL the intelligence JimB can muster. WEAK and PATHETIC, as usual. You are sad little man. :(
