This poor girl would have been fine if she grew up in a tolerant liberal community.

The religious right is basically banking on this same logic as they believe they are being oppressed.

Too much wealth is centered at the top, everyone at the bottom regardless of politics get oppressed, politics divides those at the bottom so they blame each other and keep the cycle going.

Gun bans seem like they are just never going to gain traction in the USA, maybe we need massive Gun/ammo taxes. If only the rich have guns poorer people won't be able to kill each other over political disagreements as easily.

I don't know of anyone who has seen the manifesto (though Saxi probably has)... but my money is on the school shooters motivation having very little to do with 'being an immoral trans person', and it having much more to do with being abused as a child by John Perry. John Perry a prominant minister, co-auther of a book with former gov. mike Huckabee and admitted child sex abuser (of his own daughter). Apparently this school used John Perrys home as a 'safe house' for kids they pulled from they own families homes, and then lied about it and tried to cover it up for many years after. Timelines of his involvement, along with the shooters attendance of the school match up fairly well.

This is by no means a vindication of a person who went into a school and killed children. It's gross, entirely fucked, and I'm happy the shooter was killed. Maybe a justice system that fails them and allows child raping clergy to escape prosecution is what motives someone to do something this sick. Maybe clergy interacting with children is a bigger problem than guns, maybe that is what we should focus on banning? Maybe gender identity has nothing to do with this shooting, and clergy raping children has everything to do with it.

Not right to blame the Left as a whole or Transpeople as a whole or as individuals.

That said, there are extreme pro-trans activists who paint such a picture that they have some culpability. No?

Look at what happened to JK Rowling. She’s a very left-of-center feminist.
She made a few posts questioning some of the extreme trans-positions…
-letting men who claim they are female go to female prisons and female only women’s shelters
-early transitioning drugs and surgeries
-trans-women competing against natural biological women in sports

She made these posts and was immediately the victim of hate from the far-left pro-trans.
The emails and comments directed at her were vile and violent and claimed she was anti-trans.

Even though she supported trans-rights in the workplace, to marry who they want, to live how they want, etc.

The extreme pro-trans movement is violent and has no ability to process nuance.

This rhetoric contributes to views like this shooter held as well, no?

This is not necessarily true. Gender and Body Dysmorphia is a serious mental issue.
She was going to have mental health problems no matter what.

I agree a more supportive family life would’ve made this less likely… but it would not necessarily eliminate all her problems.

This is not an excuse. Adults have to be responsible for their actions. Even adults with mental illness.
