Not in mafia games that is true. But if you can't stand losing in other games it's the same thing right ;-)

You can ask Traf if he can't stand losing, pretty sure he won't deny that fact.

But that by itself doesnt make him the Thing neither.

So basically, you pulled that out of your ass.

Unvote Vote Son!c

Even if hes town, his behavior is just going to hurt us in the long run.

The Thing Day 2

Postby DirtyDishSoap on Sun Nov 12, 2023 2:56 pm

Bunch of impatient little children in here! Can't even have a relaxing weekend! *ahem*

The day ends with the scientists arguing with one another. No one can trust any one. How can they hope to unite against an entity that mimics everything perfectly? Night falls and, after a cold day, a colder night descends.

"Your mullet looks fucking stupid!'

*FWOOOOSH*

Pixar -Clark (Science Team, Vanilla) has been burnt to a crisp!

Since night actions were already sent to me, Day 2 officially continues! No deadline.

That's not a mullet... though there is an undeniable element of 'hockey hair' present.

More seriously... I ask, was Pixar a mod-kill, maybe because he had to drop out in RL.... or is there actually a player with a flame thrower?

BT EW

Most of his comments on Son!c yesterday were saying that he thought Son!c would be easy to spot as cult. Then his last post he stated his worry over Son!c getting recruited as a reason to vote him.

Also probably a vig kill. Fire is the main weapon against the Thing in the movie. Though, I don't know why our vig picked Pix at the moment.

I was going to start off with a bt vote on Trafalgar but this is pretty good catch.

BT Extreme

Not sure either what our vigilante saw in Pixar. He was off the radar, no better than random chance of being the Thing and no reason to think the Thing would target him for conversion.

Mostly because there seemed to be a consensus that all town players were Vanilla... and the Thing would presumably convert a player, not kill him.

Actually, the Thing in the movie does kill just as often as he converts, but never with fire. In fact, fire was only used by the humans to kill the Thing.
The two characters in the movie that I recall using flamethrowers were MacReady and Childs...

Also, it does seem a little odd for a vigilante player to target Pixar, though I suppose lack of participation is generally considered scummy.

Yeah.

Anyways. Ragian, Strike and Charle are my 3 candidates to be put in the group with Deg.

Pixar said he had RL issues so i dont think it would be good sports to take advantage on such claim. So i think Pix is town but because he is so silent he goes to the D4 group to me.

Then its just 5 left myself included. I realize my playstyle puts me in the 60% group so i'll volunteer to be BT on D3.

Do the 4 remaining players EW, Traf, Votanic and Swang have any issues with getting a BT? Does anybody of you 4 volunteer to get a BT?

There was also this quote from Sonic (of all people) saying that Pixar had RL issues to explain his silence... I just took that at face value yesterday, which would have explained a mod-kill.

I gues mod-kills are usuallu announced as such, but there is no hard-and-fast rule that they have to be.

Because we would never get a lynch going with others not agreeing. I still think Sonic would be easy to spot as cult, despite his referencing adaptations I have not ever seen it. Wouldnt you think that a Thing EW would just lie low with the watchful eyes on Ragian already on him?

also it appears we do have PRs. I stated my name too early then. Theres a couple people who wanted Pix potentially dead, including me I guess. Those people are safe for now but are more likely to be converted in the future.

Looks like we have MacReady with flamethrower in here after all!

But if the 5 lynch votes on me still count then you better unvote asap..

Because if the 2 things are not voting for me already (one converted) they can hammer me anytime..that is what i would do

Meaning D2 ends instant (we lose the BT) and D3 starts with 3 Things..

Ps: lets not BT MacReady

Interesting happenings.

I have one question, I know it was discussed before but I don't think we came to exact conclusions.

Obviously we do not know who the Thing converted last night. Let's say Deg was converted, is he now on town side when the game ends or moved over to scum? We will probably have to work this out ourselves once everybody is starting to post. I would guess they can communicate privately and if so, then the possibility is there that the Thing did not convert the obvious Deg as we all would have thought, meaning we should be very clever with our choice of BT today.

Going to be interesting to hear Deg's take on this.

Yes, that is why i said "Ps: lets not BT MacReady". This is a new element. We should be very very clever with our choice of BT today. If we get one..

If the recruited one hammers me N2 starts instant, we lose the D2 BT, and D3 starts with 3 Things and 5 townies..

And if the 5 townies lynch whoever hammered me D3 ends and D4 starts with... again 3 Things..a infinite loop to a certain doom..

While The Things will wanna recruit MacReady (to neutralize the Flamethrower first priority).

Unvote

Simple answer, the converted win with the thing. If this wouldnt be the case, they announce their converted-ness to town and the game breaks. I do not know if the things have scumchat and if so, if they have daychat as well.

There are some games where cult reverts when the leader is killed but I doubt that's the case here.

So here's the thing: if we lynch incorrectly today and there's another town kill from MacReady tonight, we'll be down to 4 vs 3 tomorrow. MacReady needs to hold off on killing anyone tonight and we need to be careful on any lynch today.

No one should be voting before the BT today. My BT pick is still EW. I felt his justification for the Son!c vote was weak and he pretty much acknowledged that it was weak in his defense of it. The question he sets forward about whether a ThingEW would lay low is also fairly wifomy. Finally, I also feel that if he is town then he'll be a strong voice to have confirmed for the day. Traf, Son!c and Swang are also ones I currently consider and I do note that Swang was the one to quickly jump on my early BT vote on EW.

Hell yeah my justification was weak, I've been pushing for a lynch the whole day and my even my trusted friend dega was on it despite not wanting to lynch. If Swang was on 3 votes instead, I would have voted swang. I voted the person most likely to get lynched.

Given the reasoning presented does my stubbornness in getting a lynch make me the thing in the eyes of others, or the plan to always lynch itself?

There were a few people I'd rather not lynch at the time, I've given my reads (at the time) on them as well.

I do agree that I'm usually a strong voice, but I can be a strong voice without being BT'd too . As for that, I'm not sure who I want to BT atm. Sonic comes to mind, Traf comes to mind. I think I want one of them either lynched or BT'd because they are very much unpaired.
