They are basically hiring anyone with previous military experience (any), with less training than you'd get at Chipotle, and a $50,000 signing bonus. You get an extra 100k signup bonus if you were arrested/charged for offenses relating to Jan 6th (Oath Keepers, Patriot Front members ect)

Part of the 2025 tax bill that passed was creating 75 billion dollars in new funding over the 4 years of Trumps current term, previously they had about 10billion/year budget, now it's about 30b. Basically the same yearly amount was cut from the food stamps program in this bill so effectively a 1:1 trade of letting poor american kids starve so we could chase poor foreign kids down and deport them.

I just assumed that most of them would' have to be failed cops or soldiers(probably a lot of just "ex" soldiers as well, tbf), doesn't seem to be a shortage of those types down there. and I've heard varying reports as to the quality/quantity of training they get...*shrugs*. in any case, it seems like this whole thing was thrown together a lot more quickly than it probably should have been, given what footage I've seen of their performance, so far...

The Jan 6 part was just a joke, there is no bonus for being part of the failed insurrection... Though if they happen to stumble upon my post you could see this implemented in the near future.

The current signing bonus is about 50k though, and you get to break into peoples house without a warrant while masked and point guns at them.

Transgender gunman’s social media warnings emerge after fatal Rhode Island hockey game shooting

A 56-year-old shooter who killed two family members and injured three others at a high school hockey game in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on Monday left a trail of social media posts warning that transgender individuals could go “berserk.”

Police identified the gunman as Robert Dorgan, who also used the name Roberta and the surname Esposito. Dorgan died at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after opening fire during a senior night celebration at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena.

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — The person who opened fire Monday during a youth hockey game at a Rhode Island ice rink was specifically targeting family members, killing an ex-wife and son as many fans dived for cover while a handful rushed the shooter to stop the attack, authorities said.

Pawtucket Chief of Police Tina Goncalves said the shooter's ex-wife Rhonda Dorgan and adult son Aidan Dorgan were killed and three others were injured: Rhonda Dorgan's parents, Linda and Gerald Dorgan, and a family friend Thomas Geruso, all of whom remained in critical condition Tuesday afternoon, Goncalves said

Police identified the shooter as 56-year-old Robert Dorgan, who died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Dorgan also went by the names Roberta Esposito and Roberta Dorgano, authorities said. (...)

Gender identity apparently was a contributing factor to Dorgan’s wife filing for divorce in 2020 after nearly 30 years of marriage.

Court filings show Rhonda Dorgan initially wrote “gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic + personality disorder traits” as reasons for filing but crossed that out and wrote “irreconcilable differences which have caused the irremediable breakdown of the marriage.”
