https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/art ... p_catchallU.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar will move out of her Washington, D.C., home that federal agents searched last week, she said Wednesday, noting that attention brought on by the raid has made her feel unsafe there.
Federal authorities are investigating potential fraud in her family's immigration paperwork and have issued grand jury subpoenas to some of her relatives, a person briefed on the investigation told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation.
Omar, who was born in Somalia and is a naturalized U.S. citizen, said Wednesday in her first interview since the search that she is "confident in the fact that I didn't do anything wrong."

Federal investigators have reportedly obtained DNA evidence as part of an investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar, and the news has revived a years-old allegation: that the Minnesota Democrat married her own brother to help him secure a green card. The claim has never been proven, and Omar has consistently denied it.
On Monday, October 19, an unnamed source told the New York Post that the 44-year-old congresswoman's DNA is "crucial evidence" in a possible immigration-fraud case. The Post's account relied on anonymous sourcing, and no charges have been announced.
Omar married British citizen Ahmed Nur Said Elmi in 2009, and they divorced in 2017. Critics have long pointed out that her father, Nur Omar Mohamed, has also used the name Nur Said Elmi Mohamed, which closely resembles her 41-year-old ex-husband's name.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Ilhan Omar is the target of at least two federal investigations related to possible immigration fraud and inflation of her net worth by tens of millions of dollars in House disclosure forms, according to sources familiar with the probes and an administration official.
DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro confirmed Tuesday on Fox News’ “America Reports” that “there are several investigations going on” related to the Minnesota Democrat, adding that potential civil or criminal immigration violations as well as Omar’s claim of being worth up to $30 million were also under scrutiny.

Sources familiar with the cases disclosed that the Minnesota US Attorney’s Office was leading the probe into alleged immigration fraud, possibly involving false statements about Omar’s birth date, while Pirro’s office in DC was taking on the inquiry into the finances of Omar and her husband, Tim Mynett.

What would be:
a) a good result for Trump
b) the best he could have hoped for in the circumstances
c) the sort of result that would have him claiming that someone interfered or cheated?

The final result appears to be 55-45 in the senate (technically, 53-45 + 2 independents who caucus with democrats), and around 265-170 with democrats taking both houses. Could end 56-44 as Mississippi of all places appears to be the last senate race still too close to call but the rep is ahead.

President Donald Trump, meanwhile, relished what Interior Secretary Doug Burgum called “a day of celebration.” In his half-built White House ballroom, he watched the last beam rise to the roof like a sports team’s championship banner.
This bizarre contrast marked a turning point in the Trump era.
The president seemed unaware or indifferent that his fixation on a vanity project epitomized the apparent disregard for Americans’ cost-of-living pain that doomed the GOP in midterm elections. Oddly, as he chatted with reporters, he didn’t seem crestfallen over his party’s epic defeat. Instead, he seemed liberated — able to fully devote himself to constructing a physical legacy.
“Envision chandeliers all over here soon. Envision marble floor. Oh, it’s going to be beautiful. This will be the most beautiful building,” the president said.
On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order deeming the Oval Office a national monument, hoping to prevent future inhabitants of the White House from tearing down all the tacky gold stuff he's put everywhere. The move comes two days after the country dealt his party a staggering midterm defeat, largely because voters think the president prioritizes his vanity projects over the needs of the country.
Most Americans do not care (or care LITTLE, check the Polls) what the Oval Office looks like.Dukasaur wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2026 8:48 pm Apparently, what he does now is obsess about preserving his legacy of tacky hideousness.
