GL to the Jedi knight fighting today. Wicked that was pretty scummy to ask for the claim like that, but you've also done that in other games even though I don't think you really expect to receive one. AD claiming to be that Jedi was also pretty goofy as Fircoal recently demosntrated by his lynch as William Wallace in Braveheart that saying a stupid statement can easily be interpreted the wrong way although at least you claimed to be a protown character instead of scum. I would like to keep my vote on GA as he hasn't changed my mind yet on why I shouldn't vote him although if AD or Wicked keep acting scummy I will switch my vote to a serious one on them instead of just a FOS at this time.

BTW most of us here can't really say anything about how others treat noobs in mafia myself included as we do tend to give them hell when they act scummy from just being a noob.

Hmmmm...

Either wicked and Nark are both scum, or their both town. The latter is more likely, I suspect.

I mention the former because I know that wicked likes to get into a fight with a fellow scum on day one when she's scum; that said, I don't really get that feeling this time.

My hunch tells me that she was telling the truth when she placed a bait vote on AD (reading through things, after seeing his joke, placing a bait vote is what I would have done had I been around as well). Narc's response was in character from the times I've played with him, so I'm reasonably certain he's town, which makes me reasonably certain wicked is town as well.

So far, two things strike me regarding this game:

One, I'd wager that several of our scum are submarining. This is just a hunch at the moment, but I've learned to trust my hunches, so I suggest we look to see who hasn't made much of a contribution yet.

Two, Fircoal still seems like a good target, from my previous logic. As I said before, he's usually more active; though he claims he's under threat of modkill as the reason he's subdued, I don't really believe it. I think he's trying to latch onto an excuse to lay low, so he's pinging my scumdar.

FOS however, becuase the validity of that claim isnt very...well...valid, in my mind. Hmmm... yes, it becomes more effective if one of the players involved is the Godfather. For instance, Talapus and I tried exactly this in that 7-player game a while back, when he was godfather.

At any rate, neither of you are cleared in my mind, but you both acted sufficiently in character that I'm not any more suspicious than I always am.

Wicked, you certainly have a talent for keeping day 1 alive with your pointless arguments with other senior players.

Really, though, I wouldn't put too much stock in these first day lengthening arguments. The chance of finding scum on day 1 is pretty low anyway, and the chance of singling out of of then within a few hours is even lower.

I'm going to have to agree with Aimless that most scum members would probably take the path of subtlety and submarining over some kind of super-obvious argument, or even average participation.

On an entirely separate note, after seeing the Duel announcement, now I know why my name got included in the "blatantly stole from" list mandy posted at the beginning.

Based on what I saw while I was modding Sherwood, I suspect it would be to the town's benefit to try to discover the mechanism behind the duel, on one condition - whatever we do, we shouldn't try to out the players involved.

More than likely, there is only one (maybe two) scum involved in the event, and several townies. Furthermore, I would hazard a guess that most of the townies involved are also power roles. Thus, trying to out our duelists will likely not gain us much, and could cost us quite a bit.

But, speculation on the nature of the contests themselves could be beneficial.

If I were running this, I could only think of one or two ways to make the contests "fair" without having them become such an involved process that they would detract from the rest of the game.

It's possible mandy is using a "skill" system with a random number generator to determine the outcome (like I did in Sherwood), although since the loser (if town) dies, that has the potential to be unbalanced (perhaps intentionally). The only other way I can think of to do it is with something along the lines of a paper-rock-scissors system.

My hunch tells me that it's probably one of those two.

I had a 1 time use investigation which I could use whenever I wanted. I didn't want to use it Day 1, but I wanted to know if I could trust wicked during the game. So after a couple questionable posts, I sent in the request. Mandy confirmed that wicked is scum.

I don't mind claiming now, because I no longer have any power. If the mafia decide to night-kill me now, it'll be no big loss. It is possible wicked has a role similar to a miller, but that's a minority. Either way, my vote ain't changing unless someone can provide better proof that they discovered a mafia.
