I like some pink floyd. I dont want to get into a rant, but my favorites are zeppelin, AC/DC, the who, jimi hendrix, and ZZ Top. I like some new bands, but its only a handful.

Good list. Though I personally have never been too into Jimi Hendrix. ZZ Top is awesome, Led's has some great music too, and Pete T. is a good song writer.

I've never gotten into Nirvana the way some people do. I think they were a good band but I never really thought they were one of the best ever.

Good to see you. We're dedicated to becoming the longest thread but most of us here try to do it with as little spam as possible.

New music is basically death metal preppy boy (no offense) music, in my opinion. I wouldnt consider it rock. Some good new(ish) bands I like are cake, Arctic Monkeys, and the Kaiser Chiefs.

You like PF. that's a good start but you need to open your mind up and realize just how sucky some of those bands you mentioned are. Trust me you'll know which one's in time.

I see you are very open minded yourself.

The main reason I don't like too many old bands is because, while I appreciate their talent and originality, I usually just don't like the vocals

Oh forgot some bands  :

Aerosmith
ELO
BOC
Teddybears
Doors
Ramones
White Stripes (Best new band in my opinion. They compete with the greats of the 90's, IMO.)

I love them. Amazing how a guitar and a drum can do so much. They have probably reached their peak with this new album, but I think its great. They have the guitar solos and beats of the great classics, but with a modern flare.

I never said that. I meant I don't like the vocal style. For example (and some may hate me for this) I can't stand much of Led Zep's singing, and its not that I just don't like "different" singing either, because I have a thing for baritone singers :-k

obviously many bands these days have sucky vocals, please don't interpret my post as "oldies suck and new music pwns"

Relax. In case you can't tell neither of my last two posts directed at you were even the least bit serious. However, I do happen to like alot of the classic vocals with few exceptions.
