Now, to address the issue of a commonly-employed doubles strategy of knocking down a huge force. All of that would make sense if the two semi-large forces were touching each other. In this game they were not. Sultan started with a force of 13 that he added 3 to, and our force of 18 was FOUR countries away. You have to leave 1 behind all along the way to get there, and that just does NOT make sense strategically. So, you're afraid the opponent will eliminate your force - so what's the logic, you decide to do it for him? Because anyone in their right mights would HAVE to think that in order to march across 3 other countries before you get to the 18, and then take on the 18, that you're going to lose the bulk of your force! And if you don't think that, you're an idiot! You got lucky this time on a crazy insane attack.... please, be my guest, continue trying that and see how far it gets you.

B) to hecter, thanks for telling misterman10 what an asshole he is - appreciate that. But secondly, we wouldn't attack 18 armies with 12, because it's stupid! And no one should even hope to win that. Maybe as a last-ditch desperation move when the game is clearly lost, but that's not what we're talking about. In the particular game where that happend, it was the SECOND dice roll for that guy - Round 2, and he just completely annihilated our entire force! Game over, after 2 dice rolls. Why would anyone even try that unless they KNEW they couldn't lose?
