Evolution demands survival of the fittest. The fittest have the basic layout because that has been demonstrated to be the best for hunting and evading being hunted.

If you notice, all predators have their primary sensory detectors pointing forward. All prey have their eyes at the side of their heads allowing for all-round vision and their ears have evolved to be far better at hearing noises from all directions.

Evolution isnt random. Mutation is random.

Can anyone name a time when there were no earthquakes, wars and rumors of war and pestilence? I just can't think of any of the top of my head. Perhaps all times are end times.

So I go to foxnews.com and I find this: Buildings Evacuated as 5.9 Quake Rocks Mexico City
- 6.0 Quake Shakes Indonesia

Not to mention the one in Pakistan recently the one that caused the tsunami last December and countless others. They will increase in frequency. Seems to me there is more Earthquake activity now more than any other time in history.

Where's the pestilence?

And since when have war, rumors of war, and numerous earthquakes not happened? You still haven't responded to my point. All of these things happen so often. There have been so many times in the past when people thought it was the end of times. Well, according to your logic they must have been right, because all of these things happened then too.

It seems to you, does it? And a quick glance at foxnews provides you with enough evidence to support this claim. Interesting.

I wasn't responding - I was asking a question, one for which your response includes a number of omissions and appears to be based solely on your gut feeling.

This is from the obviously liberal, godless and hellbound United States Geological Survey:

"The USGS estimates that several million earthquakes occur in the world each year. Many go undetected because they hit remote areas or have very small magnitudes. The NEIC now locates about 50 earthquakes each day, or about 20,000 a year.

As more and more seismographs are installed in the world, more earthquakes can be and have been located. However, the number of large earthquakes (magnitude 6.0 and greater) have stayed relatively constant."

Like the rapture and predictions for 'end times', all you have is wild speculation and misguided conclusions.

Oh please. The NEIC was established in 1966, even after the world started to get bad. What a dumb thing to say, cola.

From Aids in the 80's to the more recent , mad cow, west nile, bird flu (which could be the next pandemic) ... can you imagine something like the black plauge sweeping across the globe in present day?

I did respond. In 1948 Biblical prophecy was fulfilled with the Jews regaining their land Israel. Scripture states the "generation" that see's that happen will see ALL these things take place until the time of the end.

Well, let's look at the 16th century for example. Jews in Palestine, while not in possession of their own state, lived autonomously in the Ottoman state of Palestine, side-by-side with Arabs and Christians in relative harmony. The worst earthquake in history (830,000 dead in China) occured. Epidemics were rampant due to the discovery of the new world - Europeans were picking up all sorts of new diseases their systems were not prepared for from but the native Americans had it worse. Cocoliztli and smallpox killed millions, Mexico was drought-stricken, scurvy was common and there was even a syphillis epidemic back in Europe. There were about 140 wars in this century according to http://www.zum.de/whkmla/military/16cen/16cenindex.html

Now, admittedly, I haven't seen anything to indicate that the Jewish population in Palestine at this time was anything but small. However, the population of Israel today is small in comparison to the Jewish population worldwide. There are almost as many Jews in the US alone as there are in Israel. There can be no denying that the Jews are still scattered.

basically if you're waiting for armageddon, and the signs are war, disease and earthquakes, you could drop into any period of history and the signs would be all around you. Convenient huh?

hmmm...so, we have, what? 10-15 years left? *Sigh*...I really, really, really wish that I knew what the last sign was...so that I could truly enjoy my final moments while engulfed in some general mayhem and debauchery.

Maybe the 'final sign' of the coming apocalypse is the Cubs winning the World Series! Seriously, people...if that were to actually happen, who here wouldn't feel the effect of the cosmic imbalance as hell finally froze over? Scary thoughts, people...scary thoughts...

jay i'm not sure how old you are but i'm guessing you weren't around when Israel was created.

So - do you believe that the apocalypse is going to happen before the aging generation that was around when Israel was created dies out?
And if so, and if nothing happens, no rivers of blood or thunderbolts, would you then rethink your faith? How woudl you square it?

the bible also predicts that the middle east will burst into war. do you live in a box or are you noticing something? the bible has said that the desert will bloom before end times. did you see the national geographic mega structures thing with palm jumera in dubai? and what all they're doing? and what do you mean where's the pestilence? pestilence inks its way into just about everything you see, tv or real life! face it, the bible has never benn wrong yet on its predictions. the battle of gog magog predictions in ezekiel are starting to come true. russia and iran (the bears from the north) are already making alliances.

There will be no need to rethink my faith as I am certain of it. We will have to see wether scripture means the establisment of Israel or possibly the Jews will (in mass numbers) return to Israel. Whichever it is Israel had to FIRST be established for this to occur. There is no set time table but it is quite evident that we are heading into the final days. When the anti-christ surfaces he will bring peace to the middle east in effect starting the 7 year tribulation of which this "peace" will only last 3 1/2 years. Followed by 3 1/2 yeas of "hell on earth".
