Lol. Just the daily normal ramblings of an atheist. No real responce is given, just empty insults with no meaning, that just make you sound dumber when you have no premise to back up your chastisement.

As for you, Pilate, your responce gives a wonderful example of how haughty and self-centered all atheistic evolutionists are. "Sure, fundamentalists can never admit they're wrong." It's actually likewise.

They assume what they've been taught is true without running on the question of "Why?" That's how I got to the conclusions I come to. Trust me, I've been a strong evolutionist like you before; I don't deny it. But I asked "Why" and got answers that changed what I thought to be true to be pure assumptions and nonsence.

If you guys, or anyone wishes to answer my statement, please put something useful instead of worthless ramblings that show anyone what clear, insulting, evolutionary dogmatists you are.

Is this supposed to be a parody? You know, like you really mean Christian fundamentalists are dogmatic and don't put forward intelligent statements?

Cause if it's not, then it's very sad. Nm, you're from Texas. That explains everything.

I missed the part where I was talking about the big bang.
I was just nit-picking jay's science sez ramblings.
I have no idea what bogus science study means or refers to.
I have never disputed the laws of thermodynamics.

Caleb... the thread is long but very entertaining (especially when vtmarik was posting) :D

I don't know. I just did a quick Google search. Like I said, I don't know anything about the Big Bang. My understanding is that everything originated from a very, very, very small point. What I don't understand, among other things, is what was here before the universe, where was this point located and where is the universe right now. However, note that the same questions might be asked of God (and don't say he's always existed and God is everywhere - if you're going to be knitpicky about the answers provided by science, you should apply the same amount of criticism to creationism). Simply because scientific theories have holes in them does not necessarily dictate that the answer defaults to God. Both science and religion may be horribly wrong. These are only two broad perspectives on our origins and I suspect the truth is actually well beyond our comprehension (unless you happen to be a Buddha).

Wow! Truman, I enjoyed reading your posts and I am humbled by your vast knowledge on this subject. I also was not surprised to see the atheist responce imediately following your posts. "You will be hated because of me" came across my mind as I was reading them. The term "Chrstian fundamentalist" or "fundies" as I have seen in other chatroom online, is this supposed to be an insult? Is it equal to that of say, a muslim extreamist?

All I was tring to do (on a basic level of thought) was to try to get people to THINK about it. If you took my faith out of the equation, evolution, big bang and the like would STILL not make sense. But instead of sitting back, taking a deep breath and pondering the subject, many people have chosen to just attack what is said simply because I/we are people of faith. Questions are raised ,which are seldom answered and the attacks continue. I truely hope the self-professed atheists would just seek God. Just ask Him if he's there? Sadly, God could shout "Hello down there I am real!" In a loud booming voice that the entire world could hear and people would still reject Him.

If anyone would like to continue a discussion on the exsistence of God without all the hatred of God, continue to post. If one sheep returns to the flock its worth all the arrows thrown.

Ok. Here I go. Okay the big bang did happen. Why? Because an almighty force a.k.a. god willed it. Second, Evolution works like it has a brain with modifications that can only be explained as some outside force giving it the power to shift these creatures once again god. There I think that will appease both sides.

its cool whatever you need to get by in life. everyone has their own needs. thats all. im glad you enjoy god and he gets you through life. neither side can prove they are right its an opinion and with most things opinions differ.

this is why there are cults and groups of many religions on earth so everyone can be happy.

its just a shame people are using religion to their own selfish gains, thats all.

sending people to their death, over nothing ....but i guess the world has to keep the population down somehow, so its as good as any

Yet another post without substance. Unless you are refering to Truman and I seeking to convert the CC users so as to later extort finances from them so we can maintain our lavish lifestyles. Darn! Found me out.

"selfish gains" would be refering to what? I can't figure out my so many people have such hard hearts toward God? Why does an atheist get upset when their child stands for a "moment of silence" in school? If they are of the belief that those praying are praying to a non-existant being, how does that effect the child of an atheist? Oh nevermind, it just came to me, "We are not fighting against flesh and blood but against spirits and pricipalities".

Christians may be your enemy but you are not ours.

Manipulation of religion has been common from early on Catholic churches back in the Middle Ages would tell followers that they were sinners and the only way to repent was to give money to church for their own selfish reasons and the same stuff happens even to day with terrorists and other less extreme groups today.

And I believe he was talking about the extremists more than anything. But I could easily be wrong.

I think all sides of this argument, at times, have very valid points. It is clear that the minds from each side of this divide will not be changed by the other. Big questions like the big bang and the existence of God will never be truely answered in our lifetimes and most probably will remain a mystery until the end of time. Such concepts are simply beyond the thinking of all of our puny minds.
Both sides of the argument have alot more in common than is given credit for. We both have strength in our convictions, an admirable quality. We dont want to rip each others hearts out simply for not agreeing with each other. We clearly care about the future of man and want to better ourselves.
Like him or hate him, here is a great quote to leave you with to ponder our collective predicament.

"For in the final analysis, our most basic common link, is that we all inhabit this small planet, we all breathe the same air, we all cherish our children's futures, and we are all mortal."

The Catholic church was wrong at various points. It started out well, but then they started selling indulgences and not letting ppl have a bible. that's when luther saved christianity. there's a reason why christianity is the largest religion in the world. because its true.

No, it's because it's easy. It's easy to look at the world and say "God has a plan" in order to quell your unease and distaste for the violence that is happening in the world. God will make everything right, after all, He's God

Some don't follow such a fatalistic path however. Some choose to look at the world and say "This is some fucked up repugnant shit" and actually DO something other than going to church and praying for the Second Coming.

The rapture, where Jesus will come back and kill all of His followers. Gimme that old time religion.

Isn't it possible that the big bang was merely a step in the process? There could have been many things that happened before the big bang, or after, or parallel to. One step alone can't fully explain a process.
