They're fried potatoes when it comes down to it. There are much better things you can do with potatoes frankly. The only fries I've ever enjoyed are curly fries.

Couldn't find a picture bigger than a stamp of good curly fries, but it gets the point across.

Curly fries are shit. They actually charge you MORE sometimes to consume those curls of fired gunge.

Real chip-chop chips all the way. Light, fluffy, slightly greasy... soaked in vinegar and salt and smothered with the sauce of choice.

O but it is. Really! They don't look that good because it's mixed sheep-meat but they taste phenomenal. My friend once sed that to him good čevapi are better than sex. I wouldn't go that far, but if they are made right (especially by Bosnians) then you are in for a real treat.

I think you are thinking of kajmak. It's made by fermentation of cow milk and separation of it's fat (from the milk).
So it's something like really greasy cheese of some kind. It's popular on Balkan and it had a salty cheesy taste. :wink:
