Here is the total troop count for the greeks at the battle, troops not ships.
Why not make these some territories and colour the spartans in red and give them a +1 bonus when held?
Also why not make the battle larger to include the fleet with a small mini map zoomed in on the pass with the spartans?
Persian Fleet had around 1000 ships, Greek Fleet 200. Most of it was Athenian, though I believe I heard somewhere that there were some Spartan sailors on a couple Greek vessels.
the map seems to be lacking the number of territories id feel necessary for a battle as epic as thermopylae... but i mean, if you can get it done, id still play
i would suggest doing it like the way battle of actium is done and use hexagons or something it would be cool and then you can just have a small pass with the spartans blocking it and you can make different bonuses within the spartans that would depend on captains (you would have to make captains up and names as well)
then you can have more hexagons or whatever being the attacking forces. the ones in the back can be immortals since they attacked last and the ones in front are the other guys and once again you can divide these up into bonuses probably by the troop's origin
any1 understand what i tried to lay out if not ill try and make a crappy 5 min draft of my example wince i think it would be able to show the battle of thermopylae the way it happened
also if you wanted you could have, further down the path, the camps of the persian armies and ships to take as well including a part were the maelstrom occured
proposed regions for the main map
white=northern citystates
grey=central citystates
dark pink=peloponese citystates
red=persian forces
light pink=greek forces (accidentally colored Thermopylae with this, I think Thermopylae might be its own region)
should this be moved to the map foundry forum now?
once i am done with the drafts, im gonna let others take it on, adding details, eye-candy, stuff like that for the main map. i will continue working on the minimap
