Interview with brendan man
This week we had the chance to talk with organizer and player, brendan man. All questions are reader submitted, so if you have something you want to ask an upcoming organizer; PM me. Next week’s interview will be with flexmaster33. If you have not submitted your questions, you have until Tuesday to either PM me, or post in this thread.
In two weeks, our interview will be with Lufsen75. Feel free to begin submitting your questions now, I have created this thread for that purpose.

Now, on with the interview.

Q: Hello, brendan man.

A: Hello.

Q:How did you find this website?

A:My friend showed me it, and I decided to give it a try!

Q: Why did you join CC?

A:I liked risk a lot.

Q:Why did you start to play tournaments?

A:It would be more intense than regular games

Q:What made you want to start running tournaments?

A: Games weren't enough

Q: How long have you been organizing tournaments?

A: About 2 months

Q:What tournament did you first run?

A: It was called wimps vs. Cool dudes

Q: Where did you come up with your tournament ideas?

A: Normal life. That's always the best way

Q: Who do you look to for inspiration when organizing your tournaments?

A:The tournament organizers

Q: Describe the experience of your first tournament ran, and first played in.

A:I was nervous for the one I ran. Same with playing in my first.

Q: How many tournaments have you run already, and do you have a goal in mind for how many you want to run in total before you "retire"?

A:probably 1 more, I'm getting sort on time, it's hard for me to run them.

Q: What is your favorite tournament you’ve played in?

A: Mission: Survive the longest (EIOT)

Q: Is there a specific type of format that you tend to gravitate towards? Why? Is there a format that is your favourite?

A: I tend to go torwards 1 on 1. i don't like doing all the extra things you need to do for doubles.

Q: Do you find it easier to choose tournament settings yourself, or to let the players customize them?

A: Let the players choose. sometimes they don't like the settings.

Q: Overall, are you playing a lot in tournaments? If not, then why and where do you find your games to play?

A: Well, most of my games are tournaments. I have been really busy, so I missed out.

Q: How excited where you with your first CC win?

A: Pretty excited. I was really proud, I beat like a decent player.

Q:Have you ever won a tournament?

A: only a little one in,"Best of the Best"

Q: What is your most disappointing tournament loss to date?

A: Best of the Best, when 8 mini ones were won.

Q: In your mind, what makes a successful tournament?

A:It being completed and people liked it.

Q: What do you consider to be the most successful tournaments you've seen run?

A: Experienced organizers usually make the best.

Q: What makes a successful organizer?

A: Being able to have the repsonibility

Q: How do you attract players to your tournament, and what aspect (besides a reward of a premium prize or something like that) of a tournament do you think appeals to a lot of players and why?

A: Settings that they like, and sometimes even a catchy name really gets them.

Q: Is there anything in particular that you dislike about tournament organizing?

A: Having to be on a lot. I haven't been on because I've been super busy.

Q: For you, what is the best part of being a tournament organizer?

A: Seeing players having a good time.

Q: What mistakes do you see tournament organizers make the most?

A: They always forget to mention something when they post the first post.

Q: With experience comes the wisdom of knowing what mistakes you've made in the past so you can avoid them in the future. What mistakes have you made in your tournaments that you are sure to avoid in future tournaments?

A: Making bad settings

Q: Do you use a "schedule" for updating your tournaments, or do you just wait until they need an update?

A:I usually wait.

Q: If you could change one thing about Conquer Club in general, what would it be?

A: Not much. Maybe something a little easier to find games, better than the game finder.

Q: If there was something that the Conquer Club administrators could implement into the game to make tournaments easier to manage, what would it be? Similarly, is there anything you would like to see taken away from Conquer Club to make running tournaments easier?

A: Something better to manage reserves

Q: Is there anything that you would recommend to encourage new tournament organizers?

A: Don't be afraid to make more tournaments!

Q: List your top 5 biggest tournament headache's to this point

A: Reserves, Making a bracket, making the games, sending the pms, and perfecting the settings.

Q:How much time does CC take from your day?

A: Not a lot, but sometimes I can't get to it.

Q:Are you a member of any clans or usergroups?

A: No.

Q: Why did you pick the name brendan man?

A:To let my friend know it was me. :D

Q:Favourite play colour?

A: Green

Q:How do you feel about deadbeats?

A: They're ok. they have a heart, they just can't get to conquer club.

Q:Favourite and least favourite map?

A: Favourite is doodle earth, least favourite is WWII Ardennes.

Q: Any tournaments planned for the future? What are they?

A: If I can manage, i would like to have a big 1 on 1 tournament.

Q: Thank you for your time.

A: No problem!
