Todays game was an intresting match up the highly talented team of Emo United took on the first 7 bums found in the street, however these bums had something on their side, they had the worlds greatest manager pmchugh.
The game started off at a slow pace as sam levis team repeatedly fouled Rubbish IX, tackles went flying in all over the park and after just 7 mins Lucas Neill was booked for descent.
Not long afterwards his fellow centre back Stubbs hacked down Emile Hesey just outside the box earning himself a yellow card as well. Kieran Richardson stepped up to take it and curled it beautifully round the wall only for it to hit the post.
For the next 15 mins Emo United'd superior players started to show through as they began to pass the ball around with ease, and after 24 mins Stubbs played a beautiful long ball from defence right over the heads of the Rubbish XI defenders striaght to Torres, Torres used his explosive pase to accelerate away from the defenders and when veteran keeper Kellar came out his goal Torres chipped it over him with ease and it dropped into the back of the net. Emo United 1-0 Rubbish XI.
After they scored the goal they were cruising Torres was playing out of his skin and if it wasnt for Kellar making some brilliant saves Emo United would have been leading by at least 2 or 3 at half time.
However pmchugh's half time team talk worked wonders Rubbish XI came flying out of the traps and 3 mins into the second half Heskey fed through Kilbane who smashed it straight at keeper David James who parried it away, however it only went as far as Whitehead who camly stroked the ball into the empty net. Emo United 1-1 Rubbish XI.
After this the game descended into a very dirty match with tackless flying all over the place and very few chances being created. Fernando Torres seemed to be the only player on the pitch that was playing well every time he touched the ball he done something magnificent. On 72 mins Torres got the ball at the half way line and as Bramble came in for the challenge he nutmegged him, he then sprinted all the way up the field out running all the Rubbish defenders and when Kellar advanced on him he simply rounded him and finshed into the open goal. Emo United 2-1 Rubbish XI.
This got Rubbish XI fired up again and they went on the attack, they pushed Emo United back into their box and really had them under the kosh. And on 82 mins looked very promising for Rubbish when Niell made yet another dirty tacke and recieved his second yellow of the match. Can Emo United hang on in the last 8 mins or do Rubbish XI have enough in them to get the goal they need. SUB made for Emo United Todd on for Elano. (i will do this automatically to cover you if you get a player sent off.)
In the next 8 mins Rubbish had all the possession but failed to create any chances and as it ticked into injury time a goal looked unlikely. However in the 93rd minute Todd brought down Whitehead in a decent position for a free kick to be swung into the box. Rubbish XI's keeper pushed forward into the box for what was surely the last chance of the game. Richardson swung it in and Emo's keeper James came out to collect it, it was looking like an easy catch when opposition keeper Kellar pushed into him, surely thats a freekick? no says the referee and the ball drops to Ingimarsson three yards out with an open goal, only for him to hit the bar, the ball was cleared by Torres and the final whistle went.

In the first proper pre-season freindly all eyes were on Ronaldo and whether he would live up to the hype that has been surrounding him. Thunder Hawks were looking to spoil his debut and assigned Sanga the task of marking him.
The match started out with Thunder Hawks keeping most of the possession, they passed the ball around well but seemed to lack any ideas. Frustratingly for manager LSU, Red Stick could not get ahold of the ball, and Ronaldo only touched the ball once in the first ten mins. Thunder Hawks, in the early stages of the game hardly committed any men forward and so failed to create any chances despite dominating the game.
On 24 mins Ronaldo was presented with his first chance to make a real impact he recieved the ball 35 yards out on the right wing, he immedeately sprung into action, he done a couple of stepovers and skinned Sagna. He sprinted down the wing and crossed a beautiful cross into the box Bent met it with a header but failed to hit the target.
After this Red Stick started to get into the game more and managed to commit men forward well at points, for the rest of the first half the defended well and attacked in number however their main problem seemed to be the fact they had such a slow build up each time they went forward allowing Thunder to get many players behind the ball and make it difficult for them to carve out a chance.
The first half had been very boring however right at the start of the second half RSC played some wonderful football. On 51 mins Ronaldo picked up the ball at the half way line, took one touch and played a diagonal ball up the pitch to Lucas who chested it down and ran at Ferdinand he flicked the ball round him and advanced into the box, as Ballach came accross to tackle him he left Bent free in the box, Lucas played the ball across and Bent was one-on-one with the keeper he hammered his shot and it went miles over the bar. What a waste of a great opportunity.
For the next 15 mins RSC passed the ball around beautifully with Ronaldo at the heart of all their play. However every time they created a good chance Bent was their to ruin it whether he scuffed his shot or picked the wrong pass he was ussually to blame for Red Sticks failure to score.
In the last 20 mins or so Red Stick seemed to fade away and allowed Thunder Hawks to take control of the game again. Denilson had a particularly good game playing the ball about well and linking up with Berbatov, and it was him who was to have Thunder Hawks first real chance of the game on 72 mins. Ballack played a long ball forward which Berbatov flicked on and into the path of Denilson who contorlled it well and struck it on the half-volley the ball soared past Reina and into the back of the net, Thunder Hawks 1-0 Red Stick Cajuns.
After this RSC seemed dead and Thunder Hawks played the ball about with ease. Five mins after they scored Pederson had a good chance to double their lead but it was well saved by Reina who turned it behind for a corner. Ballack swung the corner in and Ferdinand got up well and made an excellent header that beat Reina only for Clichy to header it away of the line.
For the remainder of the match Thunder Hawks passed the ball well and RSC never looked like getting an equaliser, when the full time whistle went there was a big smile on amino's face.
