Ditocoaf wrote:I agree with everything you just posted, but I need to point out something. Since premium membership is something we paid for, I don't think they can just rescind it that easily. I think they would have to add something that we agree to in buying -- that breaking the rules can cause it to be taken away -- and then this would only apply to those who have bought or renewed their premium since the rule was in place. But I think that the point reset is all that is needed to deter cheaters. If any cheating, at all, results in a new-recruit score, then the risks outweigh potential gains, and cheating would be a lot less common.

1. Winning points
2. Play more games without paying for premium
The bottom line is that 99% of the players that get busted are trying to get points. I can't remember the last time somebody got busted for trying to play more games. Frankly, I think that it would be impossible to bust someone that just wanted to play more games. The reason they get busted is that, eventually, the temptation to join a game with their multi is too great. Which takes us back to motive #1.
I agree with all the opinions that have been posted. I also understand that Lack needs/ wants to create revenue for this site. That being said, I think that there is a happy medium that will satisfy the bank and the players. Not to mention that it will create a real deterrent for cheaters.
The only thing that will work is an automatic score reset to 1000 points and loss of premium. In the event that a cheater does not have premium then an automatic ban should be placed.
However, in both these instances, the condemned cheater should be given the chance to buy back premium and start again at 1000 points. If it were to happen again then the offender would receive a permanent ban.
These suggestions should satisfy all parties. Lack keeps receiving money to keep the site running and we get the satisfaction of exposing cheaters and seeing them go through the humiliation of a score reset.
I think that this is the perfect balance between justice and business.
