Well that's a valid complaint. I wouldn't call it bigotry but it's a joke in bad taste.

But you can't claim that the picture is a goddess in a degraded form. Because it is not.

Again, one might consider the very act of one dressing up as their deity to be degradation.

Again, that's not against the rules. We've been over this, and if the Hindus get a special pass on this, that's complete fucking bullshit.

It was a Halloween costume, for crying out loud, and Heidi Klum is really hot. Honestly, a.sub should just post vomit pics in that thread if he doesn't like it.

That's possible but it seems that isn't actually the case. The complaint by self-proclaimed hindu Mr. A.sub was that the gore (severed arms and heads) was offensive, which is ridiculous because that's how you portray kali.

I guess I just don't see how it could be bigotry. I understand getting offended but lots of things offend people. It's bad taste but so is making a 9/11 joke yet that's allowed. (And I think it should and that everyone is allowed to make bad jokes.)

Is Kali not meant to be "hot"?

In fact is much of Hindu holy art not meant to be erotic?

So the Kama Sutra is not Hindu? That's pretty damn ignorant. I don't think you're Hindu actually, beyond maybe a childish fancy or possibly you're a vegetarian who wants a superficial spirituality. You're like the majority of Christians who make a lot of noise and play at piety, but have no fooking idea what the Scriptures say about it all.

Snorri already shot you down when you objected to the gore - kali is a goddess of carnage and destruction and you object to her being shown with a little blood? Now you're going to tell us that Hindu "holy" art is not ever erotic? Methinks the maiden doth protest too much. You need to keep your whining bitchy ass out of here. Cheers

Kali is not meant to be hot, she is simply supposed to be a beautiful form of god. I would like to point out that those are two different things entirely.

and Hinduism is NOT meant to be erotic at all

Is that why there are depictions of dancers that can't be posted here because they're topless?

Here are some photos of lots of Hindu sculpture.
Be warned, A,Sub would appear to be worng, and I apologise for posting a link to rude things here, but this is simpley to point out how wrong he is.

I would be happy for mods to remove the link, and people who wish to pursue the question to google something along the lines of "erotic hindu art".

He is right, hinduism gave us Kama Sutra, a lot of beautiful erotic art, and a transfigured vision of sexuality.I personaly I'm greatfull for it.A.sub I don't know why are you ashemed of it?

And yes, Kali is beautiful, she's gorgeous, she's divine. Some people say's "hot" meaning beautyfull

Where's the link? I think we need some great masterbation material for this thread!

Clapper, you obviously crossed the line, with your authority.

The mods would appear to be in a difficult position here - that was genuine religious art which I posted the link to, which appears to be against the rules.

I guess you're right, some of it was pretty rude - but that's my point. (and why I posted a link, not the pictures)

Now we have someone claiming to be a Hindu, who says that they don't have erotic religious art - and that statement cannot be refuted because the proof to the contrary breaks the rules.

it is a part of hinduism, and im not ashamed, but does that really make hinduism an erotic religion
Yes that is part of hinduism, and tho i have never read it i have heard of its eroticism, but hinduism its self isnt
let me explain with an analogy
the equivalent (in my mind) is saying, because the The 2nd Amendment allows ppl to have guns, the entire constitutions promotes violence
like i said, linking the religion with that thread was what ticked me off

as for ur second point, vocab is huge to me when it comes to things like this, in my mind "Hot" and "Beauty" are technically synonyms but for use in different times.
you may call your daughter beautiful before her prom, but would you call her hot?
this is the similar thought process going through my head

Of course Hinduism isn't just about sex, but it does acknowledge the beauty and power and spirituality of sex, far more explicitly than most religions.
To see sexual passion as a channeling of the divine is not consodered blaphemous.
"Hot" and "Holy" are not considered mutually exclusive, and thus (to return to the original post) to include a picture of someone dressed as Kali in the "hot and sexy" thread is not necessarily inappropriate.
